just looked it up online acording to VOUGE bobbi brown doesnt animal test

She might not directly test but she maybe buying ingredients from sources that do as she does not have a Leaping Bunny from the CCIC. I do know that Bobbi Brown isn't on the US or the European list as cruelty free though as some of her brushes are animal fur.

Add THE BODY SHOP and NYX to the list of cruelty-free brands. NYX has The CCIC bunny on their packedging! I couldnt be more happy about that, since The BODY SHOP has my fave skin- and hair products, and NYX is my fave makeup brand

Thanks for the information Yasmin - knowledge empowers us.

I transformed my makeup bag to ALL cruelty free products. It was actually easy thanks to the many companies deciding to be cruelty free. We can all write letters to companies urging them to make the switch in order for us to buy their products :)

By the way thank you for sharing that about your brother. I have MS and I feel über guilty taking injections I know were tested on animals. I am a vegetarian but still knowing that hurts me. After what you said it gives me some relief. :)

AWESOME! I'm SO glad to see people changing from animal tested products to animal cruelty FREE products! <3 And I'm glad I learned PETA isn't at ALL what I thought. I've also learned to do LOTS of research on this kind of things and other things as well. Thanks to everyone for reading and pitching in! It means a lot to me AND the animals! And think, if we all do it we COULD really help everyone :D Even if 7,000,000,000 are still buying from these brands at least it's not 7,000,000,001. One less person. Let's keep it going! :D

Look up who does and who doesn't test in Sephora if you want to know! (: See for yourself! And I think someone asked me since I'm against animal testing am I a vegan too? NO. I am not. I don't compare food and makeup. Although I don't (who does) agree with animal slaughter and all the terrible things that go on like that, I don't know how I could stop it and I need meat so my answer to that is, nope!

@Ashley H. -- while I can agree with that to some degree the question then become where do we stop testing on those in prison? There ARE innocent people in prison. Did you know many of our medical advances stem from WWII? Some of the most horrific testing was done to those in the Nazi concentration camps and yet the results from those test have pioneered some of today's modern medicine. The cost was those people's lives and they suffered tremendously.

@Ashley <3 that idea! Agreed.

I agree with Lili I didn't read all the comments but from the first few rude comments obviously don't have animals to relate more we should stop buying from them of course not every ones gonna stop but I deff am !

As soon as you mention PETA i stop taking you seriously.

@ Ashley, NO. I strongly disagree. They are fellow human beings, even if they have done TERRIBLE things. I believe in giving them a second chance, I am a forgiving person. And I love animals, but when I see people who seem to care more for animals than for human beings, that's when I back off and don't want to get to know them.

You care that much for animals, but not for humans? No thank you. I can't say I share your view.

Lili H.

Yeah. I've changed my views and thoughts on PETA. I toootally understand! Thanks for reading!

I try to understand where you're coming from Aferdita, but I just can't. I don't understand wanting to test on an innocent animal, but NOT wanting to test on terrible human beings that cause life long damage (I would know) and who have touched and raped little kids and brutally murdered other humans for no reason what so ever. We all have our own opinions though. Thanks for reading and pitching in EVERYONE!

@Gabby Thank you! I can't think of any other reason why those rude comments are even there except to just be flat out rude or jealous because all I'm doing is helping and some people are looking at the "wrong" side and pointing out stupid and totally irrelevant things in a situation so serious. I just ignore them and keep doing what I'm doing because I'm obviously getting somewhere if people are trying to hold me back.

im aware that animal testing is pretty unavoidable BUT i rather purchase towards brands that are at least TRYING to make a difference or go out of their way to not animal test

although almost every Non Cruelty Free brand has some form of animal testing, it is a lot A LOT LOT less then the brands that dont care at all.

thats whats important. are they at least trying? do they care? like urban decay, they were going to switch their policy but in the end decided to go with their morals. they turned back and to me thats a lot better then them giving in to china.

so that is my mind set.

ill try purchasing from brands that are at least making a difference

@ Lili H.
"I don't understand wanting to test on an innocent animal, but NOT wanting to test on terrible human beings that cause life long damage (I would know) and who have touched and raped little kids and brutally murdered other humans for no reason what so ever. "

I have never, and will never, say that testing COSMETICS on animals is necessary at ALL. Because I don't think it is, and I love make up, but if I had to choose between being able to purchase cosmetics or save animals from being tortured to death, I would choose the latter.

However, I do believe in medical testing on animals, and I'm not ashamed to admit that at all. That is one of the fields within testing/science that has made us, human beings able to live for so long, get the vaccines we need to protect ourselves against diseases, insulin and dna research and so forth. I will always stand by this type of testing because more than ANYTHING else in this world, I praise and worship not any form of holy entity, but KNOWLEDGE and wisdom. And we have been able to obtain so much wisdom from medical testing on animals over the years.

And as for that ridiculous idea about testing on prisoners - I don't agree with it, they are still human beings. I've had some people do really horrible things to me during my lifetime, I was once attacked by a bully on my way home from school, he was the kind of person you could tell will be having problems with the law in the future (so he might be a criminal now, for all I know). But yet, I would never condone any testing on him, even though he severly hurt me.

This is just my opinion, even though some days I feel like giving up on humanity due to all the horrible things they do to each other AND animals, I still believe in humanity, I still would not ever want to be responsible for torturing/killing anyone by doing some kind of dubious testing on them.

When it comes to medical testing however, animals have helped us so much, and that is partially why I love them so much. They give us that opportunity to know even MORE.

I don't think people should test on animals... HOWEVER, there is a law in the USA that says any new ingreidents that come into the country MUST be tested on animals first... So the way I see it... EVERY comany has once tested on animals... sad, but I believe it to be true.

I honestly still don't understand how people support animal testing, after seeing the graphic pic and after all that had been said here in this topic. Probably because of people like that , we still test on animals in 21st century....21st Century!! Do you realize that there are other ways of testing the products? And those ways are cruelty free and even more productive. For example: synthetic skin. Much more effective, cruelty free. Why not test on synthetic skin and get better results without killing millions of innocent animals? No, it's easier to rub some bs in a rabbits eye and watch him dye slowly, in pain, go blind, etc...Why do they still do that? First of all, because there are people out there who are not willing to make a change and support cruelty free, second of all: just out of habit. They don't want to spend time on getting some synthetic skin into their labs. Well, you can't teach the old dog new tricks...
So, for those of you who say, that makeup testing on animals is still ok, you must be completely blind. There are TONS of cosmetic companies out there who produce cruelty free product. Yes, I understand that some companies just claim to be cruelty free by putting the LeapingBunny logo on their packaging, but still use some ingredients of animal origin, but you have to look into it and investigate, and contact companies representatives - if you want to make a change...If not, well, you have a right to do that, keep going to those glam makeup boutiques and get beautified while innocent animals are being tortured in labs for you to feel pretty.
For those who are interested:
peta is not trusted, but there are also a couple of lists of cruelty free cosmetics that are more trusted, like Leaping Bunny: http://www.leapingbunny.org/indexcus.php

Also, smb mentioned here that you can't avoid not using "animal products", like tooth pastes, cleaning supplies, etc...Yes, you can (again, if you really want to): there is even an app for Iphones called "cruelty free", it will give you the list of tons of cruelty free household, personal care and animal care products.

OMG Thank you so much Sofia! I will definitely buy that app and I agree with everything you're saying. Animals shouldn't have to suffer so you can feel or look PRETTY. No. I don't care what reason you have or explaination you have either. That ain't right.

@Katie I think I agree with that, it's sad and it sucks, but we have to make sure there okay for human use. I don't agree they should test makeup but medicine and stuff like that, YES. But after that they don't test on animals so I will buy from those companies not the ones that continually do it!

@Aferdita I agree with the medicine situation too because that's not MAKEUP.

Also, I don't have anything else to say about the testing on prisoners because I still agree on the idea and as harsh and cruel as it may sound, I don't care. And I wouldn't test on a bully because I don't think they are nearly as bad as rapist, murderers, molesters ETC. I know they can cause damage, but not anything close to what other kinds of people do.
