How often do you use shampoo? I have had problems with breakage for years! Then someone told me to ditch shampoo....best advice ever...when I wash my hair I use conditioner...I only use shampoo if I've been in a pool...or feel like product has been building up in my hair...and just like that...no more breakage! I've been doing this for about three months and my hair is healthy, it has grown, and has no breakage....I've been using Garnier Fructis Length & Strength conditioner lately and I absolutely love it...hope you find this helpful!
I would look at your nutrition. Are you getting enough protein & b vitamins? Eat lots of almonds & salmon if you can.
This new tresseme anti breakage line has been pretty nice to my hair. I too only use conditioner but I feel this is only because I am south American so my hair is very dry & coarse, it easily breaks.
Also, try massaging your scalp a lot, it will stimulate your follicles to grow.
Do you brush your hair with a brush? If so, use a wide tooth comb! I know everyone says this, but it helps! If you use a brush, it'll break your ends, causing your hair to get shorter, obviously, but, if you use a wide tooth comb it won't :)
Also, Don't wash your hair eveyday! It stripes away yours hairs natural oils, and trust me, it's damanging! I use to wash my hair everyday and it took FOREVER to grow, and if your hair is very oily, you can always sprinkle in baby powder, or dry shampoo. :)
I take biotin 500mg and l-lysine 500mg for hair, nails, and skin. I'm acne prone so the lysine keeps my face clear. But if I stick with it I notice a tremendous increase in the speed of my hair growth like 2-3 inches last month. The problem for me is remembering them with my regular everyday vitamin.
There's this thing called hairfinity, their pills something like biotin but their all natural and it's been known to make your hair grow 200x faster. You can check out their website at hairfinity.com and also look at their testimonies on their Facebook page you will be shocked
Ok..I don't know the last thing about hair. And, I'm not a doctor. Only schooled in makeup. SO...my advice here comes from first hand experience.
I lost a lot of hair a few years ago randomly. Totally freaked me out. I went to my doctor and he figured out the cause but told me that pre-natal vitamins would help speed along hair growth. I combined that with keeping it super de-stressed. I didn't wash it everyday, style it, etc. And it actually worked!
Note that it could have been a coincidence and it's always better to take a multi-vitamin that is meant for your current situation. So definitely speak with your doctor first if this is something you're curious about. Biotin is also a good option!
Ok the best thing to do is clarify your hair first then deep moisturizing conditioner for about 40 mins or over night which ever you like. I use moroccan oil intense hydration it does wonders. then what someone else said about the condition wash I do that everyday. make sure that you pay close attention to your ends because no matter what your hair is growing you just have to make sure you keep it and the ends is the key. Another thing that will work is not using sulfate shampoo and only shampoo like once or every other week and not use silicones on your hair because it build up on your hair.
Now if you want to use a vitamin for your hair then really look into Viviscal they are pricey but they work wonders. Try organic oils and indian powders a lot of people have had good results with those too. I spray my ends with aloe vera juice and had my shea butter mix that I use and mix myself and then hide my ends in a bun if I am not wearing it out curly that day. there are a lot of helpful tips on my blog http://ummkhaliyl.blogspot.com/
Use castor oil!! I used it for a month straight and my hair grew almost two inches!! What I did was take a little bit (you only need a LITTLE bit) and massage it into my scalp after shampooing when I put my regular conditioner. Just a warning though- it WILL make your hair greasy and it will NOT look good. But it you wear hats or headscarfs or put your hair in a bun nobody will know! It made my hair soooooo soft and strong and it grew SO fast! It's definitely something to try :) I got a tub of it at CVS for like $7 I think and I have only made a dent in it. Really worth a shot :) Good luck and I hope this helps!
Don't brush your hair too much, and when you do, use a wide-tooth comb or very gentle brush. I suggest you condition more of your hair, not just the ends. I also recommend a natural or organic shampoo! Trilogy, Sukin, Aveda, Burt's Bees and other well reviewed natural shampoo's and conditioners would be great for your hair! Also be sure not to pull your hair tightly, it will snap the hair! Try to wear it out, or in a very loose hairstyle. Be careful with what hair bands and clips you put in your hair; they can easily break hair off. Check out my blog for other hair stuff: http://meine-schadenfreude.blogspot...
hey girl..for me i use frizz ease leave in fortifying spray after i show but when i do shower i use a deep hair mask atleast once a week and other days when i wash my hair i leave my conditioner in my hair for atleast 5 minutes and use a lot on a lot on the bottom half of my hair not just my ends. and i also use triple moisture leave in conditioner makes it so soft!!!! i also take biotin vitamins bc its suppose to help nails and hair grow ; ) and i dont even get trims often and my hair grows!!!
I massage my castor oil mixture into my scalp every night since I co wash my hair everyday. I put like 2oz of castor oil to 2 drip of jojoba oil and 2 drips of argan oil and 2 drips of vitamin E oil then I put about 4 drops each of some essential that promote growth. so yes castor oil does work.
My 3 Favorite things to use are 1. Organic Coconut oil ( eaten or use it as a weekly mask ). 2. The vitamin Biotin is heavenly! Awesome for hair and nail growth! 3. My hair gets greasy easily too so i try to shampoo every other day with Dishwasher soap and baking powder! and letting my hair air dry as much as possible! Heat kills ur hair :(..... other than that, there are tons of awesome organic hair treatments and homemade masks that are great for ur hair's health! Good luckk!
Okay, So I know that there isn't MUCH you can do to make your hair grow but...
I use to have such long hair... 3 years ago.. I chopped it off.. thinking it would grow fast..(it use to) Then 2 years after I cut it, it grew to my chest...
my old hair salon I worked for made me cut it up to the middle of my neck in september '11. =\ and now It's passed my shoulders by an inch... I feel like it wont grow!!!!
I used main and tail for a while, that didn't work.. then I went back to panteen, loeral, garnier, and everything under the sun....
Does anyone know any good tips and tricks to keep hair healthy so it doesn't contantly break or come out of my head when I'm in the shower? ( I dont really use a curler or flatiron too often... mostly keep it up in a nice bun. and When I'm in the shower, I only conditon my ends)
I'm sorry if this post is all over the place with the organization hahahha
hmmm good tip! I use it maybe about every 2 days or so... My hair gets greasy fast, so I feel like I don't get my hair clean if I dont use it!!! Thanks for your help!!! =)
thank you so much everybody! I was thinking I should start taking vitamens and now I really believe I should!!! All very helpful tips and are much apperciated! <3 <3
