yes i even heard coconut oil too works for hair and skin

I always have to give this warning when people start throwing out "take this vitamin or that" because you need to talk to your doctor FIRST to get a blood work up. Reason is that many of those hair, nail, skin vitamins contain an overdose amount of minerals and vitamins. In some people's cases they're already getting enough of a certain vitamin or mineral then top it off with something with an excessive amount and that can lead to other health problems.

Personally I use to use a one-a-day (I stopped because I forget to take my vitamins) along with an extra iron pill (I'm anemic) and that helped strengthen my hairs and helped my hair BUT it's not an overnight fix and it took up to six months to see results. The problem as I mentioned is that I tend to forget taking them and there were times I'd go without taking either pill for months which resulted in my nails becoming weak and brittle again along with my hair not growing.

Another thing people tend to forget is that hair is dead and so the way to "feed" it is to make sure you're also brushing your scalp properly to basically get the blood circulation in your scalp going. Blood feeds the cells that creates the hair. I recommend a boar bristle brush - I've bought mine from Sally's Beauty in the past for under $10 - and at night before bed brush your hair and scalp. That should also help.

My 3 Favorite things to use are 1. Organic Coconut oil ( eaten or use it as a weekly mask ). 2. The vitamin Biotin is heavenly! Awesome for hair and nail growth! 3. My hair gets greasy easily too so i try to shampoo every other day with Dishwasher soap and baking powder! and letting my hair air dry as much as possible! Heat kills ur hair :(..... other than that, there are tons of awesome organic hair treatments and homemade masks that are great for ur hair's health! Good luckk!

Co-wash, as in use conditioner. It is the best thing I have ever done for my hair. It feels so much softer and healthier. Use a moisturizing conditioner most of the time, but at other times you will need to use a protein conditioner. Lasrtly, check your diet. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, take biotiin vitamins from Walmart that are only about $6.00, and drink lots of water.

BIOTIN! it works great for me & trying switching to a sulfate free shampoo! youll start noticing a difference

Thanks everyone! I hardly ever use any heat on my hair.... I usually shower at night, and that way by morning it'll be dry... I always use a round boar bristle brush when brushing my hair... during the day time when it comes to styling... I don't use any styling products unless I'm going somewhere fancy haha... and I usually wear braids or up in a messy bun...

Thank you all so much for your tips! they are all very helpful!!! =]

@yasmin - I have to watch my iron in take as well - I'm opposite than you though, My mom passed away in 06' from a blood disease that gave her body too much iron... I'll try to check with a doctor first, but I don't have health insurance! haha

You should make sure you are deep conditioning at least once a week and I think your hair may need a good protein treatment but don't over do it

This is why I'm scared to cut my hair short. It's 38.5 inches long or 98 centimeters. And by short I mean anything more than 12 inches at a time since I donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths every two/three years. I usually put a towel on my hair to gather moisture after I shower and keep it on for 30/40 minutes. Then, I take that towel off and put another one on my shoulders and wrap it around my hair. I'll post a video about it later this week to show you! Then, I wait for about another hour before taking the second towel off and put on MorrocanOil from my shoulders to the tips of my hair and let it air dry. I never use heat on it unless I have to dry it before going to bed. I also take hair/skin/nails supplement pills. I'll try to post a video on youtube and here about my hair regimen, so follow me to get it when it comes out. I hope this helps!

Everyone has the ability to grow hair. It seems that your issue is length retention. Is your hair breaking off, is it damaged? Use products that restore strength and condition. Baby your hair for a few months. Limit styling that may damage and hinder your hair from retaining length.

My hair grows pretty quickly. I take a normal multivitamin and I shampoo my hair every other day. My hair gets super oily too, but I still condition every day. When you rinse your hair with conditioner, it pretty much looks and feels like you used shampoo. I use a deep conditioning treatment twice a week, as well. Also, make sure you massage your scalp to help stimulate growth. I do this with conditioner in the shower. I also use a heat protectant when styling, and I use oil after blow drying if my hair looks/feels dry. Don't be rough with your hair. Don't scrub it with a towel, just blot and squeeze the water out. Only use a wide tooth comb with wet hair. Don't use products with harsh sulfates. And make sure you get your split ends trimmed off as soon as possible. I know it's time for a trim once my ends start looking sad. Taking an omega-3 supplement can help as well.

Whoever told you that cutting your hair would make it grow lied your hair does not have a brain nor is it living that's why it doesn't hurt when you cut it. I recommend that you put pre natal vitamins in you shampoo they smell horrible but it works. You could also use castor oil and massage it into your scalp this will help your hair not only grown in length but grow in thicker. The last this is investing in a good shampoo and conditioner that suits your hair type and stray away from using heat and if you have to ALWAYS use heat protectant. Hope this helped

And also don't brush your hair when it's wet it causes major breakage.

Vitamins like cod liver oil and biotin have worked for me as well as using coconut oil and not using a straightener on my hair for 2 years
