Okay so I want to if hair supplements to help grow out your hair actually work. Anybody that can suggest a good brand would be awesome too! Anybody have personal experiences with them? Are they overrated or what?
Have you tried biotin? It's a vitamin supplement that promotes your hair growth and strengthens your nails. From what I've heard from a lot of people, it does work but it's not guaranteed that it'll work for everyone :/
You can usually buy biotin at the local grocery store or at health stores such as whole foods, vitamin shoppe, etc.
I just started taking biotin so i'll let you know how that goes. Lol scared the crap out of my boyfriend when i started looking at the prenatal vitamins. :p
This isn't a supplement but I've heard a shampoo/ conditioner called Doo Gro helps to stimulate hair follicles to increase hair growth. If you use it with Biotin it should help your hair grow fairly long in a span of a few months
Just be sure your not taking in too much of Biotin, there is already 10% of biotin in daily vitamins so if you take a multi vitamin daily plus a 333%-1000% biotin supplement that could be too much ... I am not sure what the daily requirement is for biotin but I would find out! Every body is different so its always good to check! And you will save your liver and kidneys in the long run! =]
I actually just finished a whole month supply of Biotin. It's super safe because it's simply a vitamin (still read the package, or consult your physician to make sure you're not allergic). But I must say, it really did help. Not only did my hair feel healthy (and fuller), my skin felt so soft! And my skin is usually as dry as the desert, so I was happy! Of course you'll get much better results from actual medications, but as a preliminary thing, definitely try Biotin. :)
