My hair has gone through a lot! Relaxing, dying, and also heat damage. It's all left me with very coarse hair. And when my hair dries from after the shower and I'm brushing my hair, it just sticks out all over the place and it's annoying! I'd like something to smooth it down, too. What shampoos and/or conditioners would you recommend?
The Argan hair mask works wonders. You can get it at Sally's. Macadamian oil is good also for before your dry it and after you style it. Also if you are using hot water and washing your hair everyday is just making you hair worse. Shampoo wise try Argan oil shampoo that you can purchase at Sally's or any repair shampoos that your local salon sales.
Jessica is right on the money with Argan oil. You may also want to try Organix Awapuhi & Ginger shampoo and conditioner (I use that on my coarse, color treated and heat abused hair) and I can feel a difference even while I'm applying the conditioner in the shower. After that I use their Moroccan Argan Oil before and after use heat. I recently chopped all of my hair off into a short bob so it's super important that I find stuff that helps keep my curly hair nice and smooth (I wear it straight all the time). Those Organix products are fantastic. I have fly aways at my part so I just use a paste to smooth those down and then a little spritz of hair spray and I'm off.
I remember when I was younger all the women in my family would say that the edges around their hair line would fall out due to stress. Not so In fact it was because we all slept on regular cotton pillow cases which breaks off coarse hair strands. Mental note sure you grab a few sain pillow cases at beauty supply store and satin caps too.
Moroccan Organics shampoo and conditioner would be great for your hair type! The shampoo and conditioner protect and nourish the hair without damage. They are formulated with organic plant-derived keratin and argan root cellulose which helps to smooth the hair cuticle. I use these on my hair, and I absolutely love the results!!!
