Can any one recommend a good full coverage "matte" finish foundation ?
I'm using Maybelline fit me liquid foundation at the moment and it's just not giving me the look I want! Any suggestions would be really helpful!
You should try mousse foundations for oily skin. If you have dry skin I would suggest using a priming lotion underneath. BUT mousse foundations are VERY very full covered and heavy. I don't have that much imperfection on my face, but mousse ones make your face look completely flawless. After wearing it for a month or two you really don't feel the heaviness afterwards. I completely recommend Boots N.7 mousse foundations. They are drugstore, but they are amazing and they don't break you out like MAC skin care does to most people. It's cheap and looks stunning on.
^^ Nope! i have to disagree with Toshira A. Nars Sheer Glow is NOT a matte foundation, and it certainly is not full coverage. Its also not recommended for oily skin bc it has a dewy finish, hence the name "Sheer Glow". You can try Nars Matte foundation but again, its not full coverage, its buildable. For full coverage, i would recommend Make Up Forever Matte Velvet! :-)
If you're looking for a drugstore brand I would try Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation. I tried their oily-combination formula. I reside in FL and right now its super humid and baking hot. That stuff did not budge and it literally did not run the entire 8 hours I had it on. No blotting...nothing. And I didn't even set it with powder on day two. Unfortunately it wasn't a great color match for me and I didn't like how matte it was on skin. They should rename it super matte...it was that freakin' matte. The coverage is buildable so that's a plus. Though it didn't work for me you might have better luck. :)
I thank you all for the suggestions , i'l have a shop around and see whats to my taste and budget! I only wear makeup for 2hours daily max for my shows nightly performances and under the lights and from stage I really need something that won't go all shiny!!! :)
studio sculpt from mac is not a mate foundation. it is a full coverage foundation, but it leaves a dewy finish. if you want, do either studio fix fluid, or studio fix powder. those will be a full coverage and a matte finish.
I would recommend Bare Minerals (original) foundation. It's a powder foundation, so it will help with oily skin, if that's an issue, and it's very full coverage! MAC Studio Mist foundation is very full coverage and matte too. I like using a damp sponge to apply it. And my last suggestion is Maybelline Dream Matte mousse foundation. It's super full coverage and is very easy to blend out.
@Mary: I know of oilier gals who love NARS Sheer Glow, even though it's not marketed to them. Heck, I've got combination/oily skin, and I like it.
I also like Fit Me.
@Chavela: Get a moisturizer with mattifying properties and apply some of that before you apply your foundation. Or you can get a setting powder that also mattifies the skin (Urban Decay makes one).
Nars Sheer Matte is a good buildable foundation. I have dark spots and I have been abable to cover them with concealer. A good matte full coverage also is Revlon Cover Stay.
Monica: it does not dry like a matte foundation. it works very well for dry skin because of how moisturizing it is. if you were to put that on half of your face, and put studio fix fluid on, you can see the difference in finishes. i work with those products all day
