I have the same problem, hun. I can keep them all long for maybe a week, two or so if I'm lucky and then one by one, weird things happen and they start to go :( Part of it could be nutritional. I know that's gotta be part of my problem, I have some food intolerances & slight food allergies, so I find it a little tricky to get everything I need necessary for strong nails. I know protein is helpful. I've also heard good things about taking Biotin. As far as any kind of base, I've not found anything too good yet myself....Good luck, hun!
If you just go to a drugstore like CVS and look at the nail polishes Sally Hansen has a lot of base coats or strengtheners. Just look to see which one fits your specific needs. They are all great :) This is a picture of my nails I grew out using Sally Hansen hard as nails base coat :)
I was having the same problem, but then I found a product by sally hansen called "hard as wraps" its an acrylic gel that is supposed to strengthen your nails and prevent breaking. It really works for me and I personally love that I can use it as a base coat or by itself.
I always put a thin coat or acrylic powder or gel on my nails before a nail colour or on its own to help strangthen my nails and pro long the wear of my polish and length of my nails, this help a lot to stop them from breaking. x
