My hair gets oily fast, it doesn't hold styles that well. Also I don't know much what to do with it. I have always just straightened it, or attempted to curl it, or just put it up. I get so frustrated. I also do my make-up the same. Don't know what works best. I used to have really pretty hair, but it thined out due to the amount of damage :/ any suggestions on what make- up to use, or styles on make-up, or hair products to thiken it up again, and get it healthy, would be much appreciated.
bumble and bumble has really nice thickning shampoo and a hair powder to help with oil, also try estee lauder foundation, its good for oily to dry skin and wont make you break out and they have nice powders too :)
I have the same problem too :( but i know that kerakase does a really good oliy hair shampoo but it helps to chop and change your shampoo every 3/4 weeks for oily hair, hope this helps, sorry i cant help you with the makeup problem,i asked this as well.i wipe the oil of my face with a tissue each morning that helps a bit with putting make-up on.
This might sound crazy, but have you tried washing your hair less frequently? I've heard that you can "train" your hair to not get oily so fast, but until it learns not to produce as much oil, you'll have to figure out ways to deal with the oily hair. Scarfs/ hats, headbands, braids/twists are styling options to deal with oily hair. Dry shampoos are great (Oscar Blandi dry shampoo, with this application http://www.sephora.com/pronto-dry-s... is a great one. The nozzle allows you to apply it right to your roots so you don't get a powdery look to your hair). Even hairspray can "dry out" some oil in your hair.
thanks, i have not been washing it as much.. and only putting conditioner on my tips of my hair (i read that on a website :0) but i guess braiding it would help cover the oilyness up, i dont look good in hats.. thanks though.. I will try some of the products ya'll suggested.. its just so hard, i live in texas, and the humidity and heat are driving my hair crazy.. it falls out so much, and i dont know why.. but again thanks
Since I can barely deal with my own hair and you seem to have some pretty good suggestions, I'm just going to try and suggest make up... Maybe try introducing some new colors to your palette? I'm sure some purples would really bring out your eyes and it isn't too outlandish of a color if you're afraid of too much. :]
You should see a doctor, thinning hair could be a sign of a medical problem you dont know about. As far as makeup goes, try watching some popular makeup Guru's on YouTube, they will recommend what makeup to use. You should also visit the makeup section at Macys, Nordstrom, Sephora & Ulta, try new products!
so its been a while since i last posted.. But I took some of these advice/tips, and my hair is sooo much better.. I also started using a shampoo and conditioner called Mane 'n' Tail, which i absolutey recommened to any looking to thicken or grow your hair.. When i first posted on here, my hair was little past my shoulders, now its little past mid back!!! it feels so much thicker!!!
With your makeup, try watching some videos on here and youtube of all the beauty gurus, you can learn a lot! Have patience and keep trying. I absolutely love doing makeup and you have to just see what looks best with your eyes and lips and cheeks. Everyone is different! Believe me sometimes I wish i had thinner hair, it being so thick makes me hot! lol it takes forever to blow dry and style! But I'm glad to see your hair improved:o)
Have you tried a leave in to maintain the health of ur hair after washing and mouse to hold your styles? I use herbal essences long term relationship and as for mouse save extra hold… but you have to find what works for you
Try the Nioxin shampoo and conditioner to thick it up again. As for your makeup being the same, try a new look the next time and experiment. It's trial and error girl. Keep practicing and good luck!
This is going to sound so crazy but...scalp massages!! Use a soft bristled brush like a smoothing brush, and gently massage your scalp in small circular motions starting at your temples and working your way back. This should take 10-15 minutes. The do a leave in cholesterol treatment on the scalp. Not only with the circulation increase make your scalp more healthy and your hair grow more, it thickens the hair cuticle which makes your hair eventually grow back thicker. After you let the treatment set about 20 minutes, wash with a cleansing shampoo and use a mild conditioner. I would say once every two-three weeks should be enough. Don't skimp on conditioner because your hair is oily though, use a formula made for fine/oily hair.
Also during the day, using hairspray near the scalp will help keep it from looking oily and also keep your styles in place better.

i would baby your hair by not using harsh products that contain alcohol in them and deep condition your hair once a week to make it healthy again
