What is your favorite photoready foundation? Shadows? An enquiring mind wants to know !!! Im doing a wedding for a friend in July I want it to be perfect and since I found Beautylish Ive learned all sorts of new things from EVERYONE!!!!! So tips and advice is always appreciated xoxoxo
P.S. My friend has a very hooded upper lid (the upper lid droops down and covers the entire lid ) I know techniques that are meant for opening the eye but she has red hair and red eyelashes!!! Sort of tricky.. Thanks :)
people seem to really love the smashbox HD primer and foundation. I think a good primer will be HUGE because you want her makeup to last all day. If she's an oily girl i really recommend milk of magnesia as the base pimer. i think a really soft pink lip will be gorgeous with her coloring. I'd also do a youtube search for tutorials for women with hooded eyelids! Good luck!
Make up forever, nars, and smashbox are true photo ready foundations. Mac is NOT photo ready, and will do flashback in photos. Avoid anything with mica or spf in it. Prime everything for long wearing results. Use a mix of shadow textures-satin, matte, shimmer- but nothing with glitter. Remember to up the intensity of brows and contouring so it isnt washed out in the photos. Good luck!
make sure to do a trial run with her before her big day. you want to make sure she is comfortable with what your going to do and also it helps you know what will work for her. Try to stay away from dark shadows like blacks, do more browns even with eyeliners. foundation wise try MUFE or if you dont want to go out and buy something expensive try revlon color stay. its great for weddings. all my clients love it and stays on really well. it photographs without a white cast as well. TIP: get model in a bottle setting spray or the Scandinavia bridal setting spray! They are unbelievable!
I love the Smashbox HD foundation! I agree that priming everything will be a key factor on the big day. As far as eyeshadow goes, for weddings I like to stick to medium/light shades. Dark shadow can look okay in professional photos (works fine for something like a bridal shoot) but when the family photos and candids come around, it tends to be a little unflattering (in my opinion).
Last but not least, waterproof EVERYTHING! Hahahaa
Don't forget to pack a mini kit with blotting papers, powder, extra foundation (in case you need to wipe the slate clean and start fresh mid-day), makeup wipes, mascara and blush. Fill the maid of honor's clutch with it; as you can never tell how the bride's face will react to weather, heat from camera flashes and videographers, or of course... Hugs, kisses and emotional tears.
No SPF in any products used at all, if necessary, keep it a low intensity SPF no greater than 30... (even less if possible, ie: SPF 15)
Keep it natural too. Most brides like the idea of "glamming" it up, but if they can barely recognize themselves in their own wedding photos, odds are they may end up unhappy with it. This doesn't apply to everyone, and does depend on that person's own comfort level with makeup in their daily routine.
Good luck, and try to do the trial run in lighting similar to the environment they'll be in. Ask your bride if she'll be in incandescent, fluorescent, or natural daylighting on her big day. Select warm and cool tones that will balance with that and you'll do great! (plus, she'll think you're super awesome for taking that into consideration) =]
