I'm not sure about natural products, but if you don't want your hair completely dead wait AT LEAST a week in between each bleaching/hair lightening. Make sure you really take care of your hair during this time (hair masks, conditioner) Some people bleach their hair all in a week or the same day and they wonder why their hair is completely fried.
I have a friend who is a brunette naturally but she uses Feria hair colour and it completely bleaches her hair out to a platinum blond almost. Try the lightest Feria blond shade.
I think you will have to kill it at least a bit with bleaching. I always bleach my hair continuously until I ran out of my box bleach because my summer break is only one month and my school doesn't allow colored hair so I don't have time to wait for 2 weeks for each bleaching. This is how I do it, separate your hair into layers, apply olive oil then apply the bleach on. Continue doing the same thing till you're done with your whole head, and then I leave the bleach in for 1-2 hours depending on how long can the bleach stay moist but I suggest you don't leave it as long. Just keep checking back, I'm sure you know how to do it! Then deep condition your hair ONLY after all the bleaching. Or if it's damaged/still damaged, try to find deep conditioners (I'm using aussie 3 minute miracle) as your everyday conditioner. I use 20 vol. developer, the bleach I use is called hi-bleach, I believe it's a Korean brand, doesn't irritate the scalp too!

Volume 20 developer (which comes in most drugstore hair dye boxes) is enough to only make the color stick to your hair, a very low lift. However, if you want to lift your starting hair color and dye it at the same time, you need to use volume 30 at the least. I use a vol 30 developer for sensitive scalps (I believe it's by ION) and have a tub of bleach powder, both were bought at sally's beauty supply. You mix 1 scoop of bleach to 2 scoops of developer (1:2 ratio). To tone hair to a platinum (bleach blonde) you have to lift your hair color til it's a very light pastel yellow (like watered down lemonade). If you do not reach this color on the first attempt then wait AT LEAST a week before bleaching again (during this time take very good care of your hair). Once you have reached your color apply the toner of your choice with a 20 vol devoloper (same 1:2 ratio). I used Wella Color Charm in White Lady takes out the ash tones and gives you the platinum blonde color.
Afterwards take REALLY good care of your hair. Touch up your roots when they've reached at least 1 1/2". Use a purple shampoo once a week to keep out the brassy color from settling in (Shimmer Lights Shampoo is awesome for this). Make sure you really take care of your hair with conditioners, heat protectants, and hair masks as the bleach strips away the keratin from your hair (there's no way of avoiding it).
As you can see from my profile picture I was once blonde. lol. Recently dyed my hair dark brown but left my bangs blonde. I actually went lighter than the picture to where my hair was a blonde/white color. Took me 3 bleachings and a month and a half to get there. I had gone from a dyed black hair to blonde so that's why it took me so many tries. Yours probably won't take as long if your hair is natural and not as dark (as black is the hardest to lift).
Mine surprisingly with the 20 vol. developer, without the bleach drying out and WITH the bleach staying for like 1-2 hours, my hair will turn from natural dark-brown (then second time is when I have dyed black) to a golden yellowy blonde. Some parts will turn pale yellow blonde depending how strong the "previous" color is on my hair. Sad thing is I can't find those like jar kinds of powder bleach with a separate developer so that's why I only can suggest the hi-bleach. I heard that 30 vol. sensitive scalp developer (can't rmb the brand and I'm paying attention to the sensitive scalp thing because I'm afraid of the burn that ppl say LOL) will help for the bleach to not "stink" your scalp so if you're using the method Sheila suggested (from the jar kind of powder bleach) then maybe that developer will help? Oh and since mine is the "mini box bleacking kit" kind so I use them at 1:1 ratio. Still, I would suggest you to repair your hair first. XD & totally, bleach blonde hair is SO cool.

Pretty cheap. A bottle of developer is usually less than $5 and you get a pretty big bottle. A tub of bleach just depends on what brand you buy. I have a tub I bought for $8. Wella color charm toner is around $4. You can buy a bowl and hair dye applicator together for like $3. So you're looking to spend around $18-$25 (just an FYI I bought a tub and developer 4 months ago and I still have plenty of product left). It's worth it over buying a $10 drugstore bleach kit over and over again...that price can add up depending on how many times you need to lift the hair.
If you JUST dyed your hair brown, give it at least a few weeks before you bleach. An ideal wait time would be 3-4 months, but I know it's hard to wait. Dyeing your hair any color causes damage, so you have to make it very healthy before you consider bleaching.
please, please PLEASE get it done in a salon. i used home bleaching for a year and my hair was fried and no matter how many oils i put on it or deep hair masks nothing helped it,and it also fell out..ALOT(my mum was using a very good branded bleach from sallys on my hair) i really reccomend you go to a stylist at least for the first time you bleach it :) good luck

Bleaching strips the colour from the cortex so all bleach is going to kill it and dry it out. If you're using bleach then use plenty of moisturising shampoos/conditioners/hydrating masks etc. wait a while inbetween each dye. Use heat protectors when drying/straightening to keep it in good condition! My mate uses a herbal dye from holland and Barrett which seems quite good, her hair is in relatively good condition considering its blonde so you could try that!
I do NOT recommend home bleaching it's a job for professionals and if you cant afford it now then you don't want to know what a color correction can cost you if you mess up.
There are products now that you can put in your hair while being in the sun that lighten your hair..it might not be bleach blonde but it's a safer alternative
