hey there i also have dark red hair but i also used a semi permanent (crimson color), your best dye option in my opinion would be L'Oreal Excellence HiColor Red HiLights Permanent Creme HiLighting for Dark Hair Only ! Check this link out http://www.lorealtechnique.com/hicolor_03.shtml This dye has been known and used to really lift dark hair color, used on extensions to get the custom colors as well. Hope this helps, also my friend mixed the red & magenta and got a beautiful color :)
