Ladies.. I am transgendered and very new to make up so I am trying to find the essentials of make up. What 10 items would you consider me owning or suggestions of things that I may need to learn more.
i would say maybelline mascara bc its awesome, nars bronzer and blush in orgasam they work for all skin tones, mac eye primer is amazing, i love primed and poreless primer bc it really hides those blemishes and oily skin and keeps your makeup flawless, always remember to blend your eyeshadows too it always helps. if your new buy the makeup that has the cards on the back like too faced gives you instructions can help set guidnlines. to take off eye makeup if you dont have any makeup remover vaseline is great and never sleep with your makeup on can make you break out ; )
1; Foundation ! :) a qirl's bestfriend ! Haha
2; Bronzer ! I love Bronzer ! More dramatic dependinq on where you live . :)
3; Eyeliner ! :) makes your eyes look biqqer & more bold which draws attention to your eyes ! Amazinq
4; mascara ! Same concept as eyeliner .
5; lip qloss ! :)
6; brow liner ! Makes you look more flawless . :)
7; blush, qives you the doll look . :)
That's pretty much it, Good luck ! :)
1. Moisturizer/Lotion
...use before any makeup application all over face (prevents wrinkles/ skin damage later in life)
2. Foundation
...liquid first then powder of the same color (the powder acts like a seal so the liquid dosent melt)
...if you sweat like crazy in the summer just use a tinted moisturizer all together (some even have SPF)
3.Blush/ Bronzer
...warms the face and brings color back after applying foundation
4.Eye Shadow
...BLUE EYES -greys, ashy colors, lilac, dull caramel
...GREEN EYES-beige, caramel, dull purple, muddy green, ashy colors
...BROWN EYES- mocha, auburn, red-orange, ashy, caramel, green
5. Eyeliner
...Pencil is good for smokey effects
...Gel/ Liquid is good for dark/ precise lines
6.Mascara
...GET DRUGSTORE!!!!!! (mascara shelf life is good for at most 8 months in general)
7.Lip Pencil
...Totally optional (keeps your lipstick on longer and makes it brighter)
8.Lipstick-
...Its really a matter of preferance
...SHEER-see thrugh but forgiving if you mess up
...MATTE-long lasting, less moisture (because the finish is not shiney)
...SEMIMATTE- less drythen matte however not as long lasting
9.Gloss
...CLEAR GOES WITH EVERYTHING!!!! (they also protect your lips from the sun while making them appear more full)
10.Brushes
...SPONGES(used damp)- use to apply liquid foundation
...POWDER BRUSH- use for compact powder foundation
...POWDER PUFF- use for loose powder foundation
...EYE BRUSHES- there are a bizzillion! you really only need a fluffy one(like mac 217) and a flat one (like mac 213)
...BLUSH BRUSH- something big and soft
...BRONZER BRUSH- same as the blush only the tip is cut at an angle (this allows you to contour your cheeks)
1-Foundation (if you're looking for full coverage. If not, then tinted moisturizer is great)
2-Concealer (If you want to conceal dark under eye circles or blemishes)
3-Mascara
4-Blush/bronzer
5-Eye shadow
6-Eyeliner
7-Eye shadow primer and/or base
8-Lipstick/lip gloss
9-moisturizer
10-brushes
Always moisturize! After that, I would say:
1. Blush- just make sure it's the right shade for you.
2. A neutral palette- this is easy to use everyday or for a smokey look!
3. Eyeliner- experiment and find what works for you, gel, liquid, pen or pencil.
4. Brushes- don't use the thing that comes in eyeshadows! Plus, you get used to certain brushes, making it easier to blend everything!
5. Powder- whether it's powder foundation or translucent, get something to make you look not so shiny. It's summer, we may sweat a little.
6. Concealer- chances are, if your skin isn't used to make up, you may have a few break outs. I like Hard Candy's No Body's Perfect palette. Just apply it, powder and blush.
7. Mascara- find one that volumizes! Now go find one that lengthens. Yes, two mascara are better than one. Play with it until it doesn't look clumpy.
That's about it. Once you start playing, you'll find stuff that you NEED but you don't realize it. I have a ton of stuff I think I need but obviously when narrowing it down to necessary products, I didn't really. Good luck, and I can't wait to hear what you picked out!
1. eyeshadow palette- i recommend one of the 88 or 120 palettes you can find on ebay, coastal scents or bh cosmetics. (has every color imaginable, good pigmentation and a wide variety for beginners.)
2. eyeliner- i would start out with maybelline's unstoppable eyeliner in onyx.
3. foundation- a good drugstore one is revlon photoready or revlon colorstay.
4. eyeshadow primer & base- primer (toofaced shadow insurance) & base (nyx eyeshadow base in white)
5. mascara- i personally use two or three different ones for each application, play around with a few drugstore ones, i think maybelline ones are the best.
6. concealer- a few good ones are mac studio finish, glamoflauge, erase paste.
7. powder- a translucent one or a mac mineralized skin finish would work best.
8. makeup brushes- i started out with elf brushes (eyeslipface.com) when i began because their very inexpensive and work pretty well. as i got better i invested more money into brushes like sigma. ecotools and real technique brushes are great also, and reasonable price.
9. lipstick/lip gloss/lip liner- this is all your preference and what works best with your skin tone.
10. face primer- a few good inexpensive ones are revlon beyond natural, nyx studio perfect, rimmel fix & perfect, l'oreal magic perfecting base.
definitely use a moisturizer before applying make-up, i use clean & clear dual action moisturizer which contains salicylic acid, so it not only moisturizers but it helps prevent future break outs.
