Hey guys. I've been struggling with getting my foundation brushes really clean. I've tried brush cleaner, baby shampoo even a little bit of dawn dish soap, and nothing really seems to get them as clean as they should be. ny tips or tricks?

I use eye makeup remover to clean those brushes, it's faster than using the Mac brush cleanser because I find that (with the Mac one) I need to do the whole process at least three times before all the foundation is gone, while the eye makeup remover kind of "breaks down" the foundation.

What I do is get a little pea size amount of olive oil and dab on bristles and run across a white paper towel. The oil from the olive oil penetrates through bristles causing the left over foundation residue to adhere to the paper towel. THEN from there proceed to wash the brush with a mild shampoo like baby shampoo or makeup cleanser. Saw YouTube guru Kandee Johnson do that and I tried it and it's the only way I clean my foundation brushes. Hope this helps.

I swish them in alcohol first which gets out most of the product, then wash them lightly in baby shampoo.
