i have overall dry skin. i use aveeno normally and it has always kept it at bay for the most part. i use a gold bond lotion when i get very dry skin and it always clears it up in a few days.
latley for some reason, i've developed two veryy dry and flakey spots on my face. one by my forehead and on my chin. my moiturizers i use haven't been working and i need help ! !
can you reccommend a lotion, moisturizer, something perferably that's only for face ? thanks so much. :)
I have the same dry skin spots and i use mary kay moisturizer i cant remember the exact name im on vacation and dont have it with me but its in a circular container and the outside is pink and the cream/lotion is a whitish/pinkish color
Use shea butter, or cocoa butter. You can also use wheat germ oil, jojoba oil, linseed oil, evening promrose oil, etc. And don't forget to drink enough water. Min 2L/day.
Aveeno? *Sigh* It has so many hamrful ingredients...
a pure vitamin e moisturizer or oil, or olive oil works better than anything else drugstore to me. i've heard that cliniques moisturizer is amazing but i havent tried it that long for me to notice a difference.
Clinque moisture surge intence. This stuff is a God-send, I have extreamly dry skin, but there has been no flaking or cracking since I found this stuff!
cetaphil is a great cream that you can get at the drugstore. my dermatologist has recommended to me and wont clog your pores...also over exfoliating wont help either..ive also used the hollywood vitamen E one and helps a lot with my skin stuff too.
I was using a mosturizer from clinique, it was good at hydrating my skin, but made me break out, if your skin is not extra super sensitive you can try it there is a link to it. http://www.clinique.com/product/157...
I don't like to use oil, becuase it makes me break out too, but something it doesn't clog my pores and get me hydrated is an avocado mask, you can find some recipes here on beautylish.
another one I was using that didn't feel oily or made me break out was kiehls ultra facial cream, works nice, and I am not a expert on skin, and I can't asure you how this will work on you, because I can't see how bad the dryness is, so before you buy anything look at some reviews, try at home remedies.
because some moisturizers are expensive and is a waste of money if they don't work :-/
Clinique Moisture Surge is awesome!! I don't use the "intense"one because my Clinique lady said that unless you have EXTREMELY dry skin it can cause break outs. I have sensitive skin so mositure surge "intense" didn't seem like the best option for me. However, the normal moisture surge is great!! I also really like the "Aloe" line at The Body Shop. It's meant for sensitive skin but my skin is pretty dry and their moisturizers are awesome as well!

I'm a Esthetician. Seb Med moisturizer and Murad Hydro-dynamic moistureizer are amazing for flaky dry skin.
