The way you apply your mascara is also a factor if you do long strokes the longer your eyelashes are the shorter and your strokes and if you wiggle your wand you'll thicker lashes without the lenth! Plus the wand brushes are a key! if you want volume use the wands with the least bristles.

I would suggest L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black, L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes, or Covergirl Lash Blast. I love and use all of these.
