I think it doesn't really matter what curler you use, to me it's really about the mascara that can hold your lashes up.. I have used from $2.00 curler to $10.00 curler.. it all works the same. I have super short straight asian lashes. and currently I use Japanese store eyelashes curler and Maybelline Falsies mascara.. works great for me :) only waterproof mascara holds my lashes up..

Shu Uemura eyelash curlers are THE Holy Grail of eyelash curlers. Google it if you want to find out more about them. They've been around for years and are still the favorite. I'm not sure if they still are, but they used to be the only curlers that had silicone pads rather than rubber, as silicone is supposed to not bend your eyelashes as the rubber does. Hope this helps :)

I def do not recommend the Shu Uemura...I bought it because of the wonderful reviews and it's just an over priced ($19) curler. The Shu Uemura has cut my eye lashes really bad in multiple occasions....I feel like it was a waste of money. Not sure why the reviews are so great....had a horrible experience....lashes take forever to grow back. You might wanna check out the MAC one.

Hi. I'm new to this website and I just came across this...honestly, you can't beat Shu Uemura. If you cut your eyelashes "multiple times" why would you go back using them over and over? If you cut your eyelashes, you are probably not using them right. I've been using them for about 15 years, and nothing comes close.

It happened in the beginning when I got the curler and I didn't use it for a while because I was afraid. I tried it again and it worked fine..didn't cut them but it was nothing amazing. I used it for months until it recently cut my lashes again. I have no reason to lie. The product just sucks and it was a total waste of money. I actually emailed customer service because I want to send it back. If you are such a fan I would love to sell you mine =) Maybe it should come with instructions if I'm using it wrong because curlers are pretty easy to use.

Billy b's is the best lash curler! I used to use Shu Uemura lash curler but billy b 's are better! It gives soft natural looking curl. Stay tune for Beautylish shop will carry Billy b's whole line of brushes and lash curler.

i have a Shiseido eyelash curler & i LOVE it because its wide enough to capture my corner lashes & curl them without pinching me or damaging my lashes. I tried that Shu Uemura & ehh i'm not impressed, those things pulled out at least 1 eyelash everytime i used it.

I have the same problem and I love Tarte's eyelash curler. It doesn't damage your lashes and pinch your eyes. My eyelashes have a hard time staying curled but this eyelash curler is the one that helps it stay the longest. With this my lashes look exactly the same it would if I put falsies on

Oh, Kevyn Aucoin's eyelash curler is really good too :)

@Vanessa: The Shu curler was probably just the wrong one for your eye shape. I think they're generally flatter than other curlers so would suit someone with that shape of eye. It's not a fact it sucks (as seen in this thread, there are plenty others out there who like it); it's your opinion because it didn't work for you.
Personally, I use a Revlon lash curler. It costs around $3 USD, doesn't pinch my lashes (or lids) or pull them out, and gives a decent curl.

I'm using the revlon one. I bought it in my local drugstore for 4$. It looks just like the Shu Uemura and i have both and honestly, they do the EXACT same thing for me. Try to look for some cheep ones. Theres a ton of them and some are REALLY good!

I love Shu Uemura's eyelash curler. And they last quite a while for daily use. I've had mine for two years and it still works wonders on my lashes.

I've been using the Billy B one for quite a while and love it. He always uses it with a kind of pulsing motion as he works it out from the base to the tip of the lash. I do it that way and find that it gives a nice curl.

I've been using a Sally Hansen one for a couple months and I love it! Does the job perfectly and it's very cheap at the drugstore!

I have the Tweezermen for Benefit lash curler and think it works amazing. I used to think any eyelash curler would be fine but it dosen't. It's a thing to make an investment in. If you have really straight lashes, I would reccommend the ELF lash curler. It's only a dollar so it's worth a try, it curls them and keeps them curled.
