Lately many celebrities including Rihanna, Beyonce, Keri Hilson, and Amber Rose have been seen with stilletto or almond shaped nails. What is your personal opinion of them? Love them or hate them?
I hear they're supposed to be more practical than squares or ovals because they don't have so much nail 'blocking your fingertips'. I don't know how I feel about them, I've seen them with a lot of decorations on a woman on the train and I didn't like those, but a simple solid color or half moons are prettier.
the first time I saw them I thought they looked horrendous then they started growing on me so I went to the salon and got some and they are actually way easier to work with than squared nails surprisingly! I usually only last about 3 days with the squared nails with these nails I lasted 2 weeks
I personally agree with Crystal G. I hated them at first but now I love them! I really want to go to the salon and get them but I do not want acrylics. Has anyone had stillettos with their natural nails?
Thank you Erika! That's so sweet:D From my experience I don't really see a difference in maintaining squared or pointy nails. If I see they are breaking, I immediately file them. If it is too broken to file it away I'll fix it with a nail glue and a teabag (if you don't know this trick, you can watch tutorials on this on YT;) ). I do this as much as needed, but those things don't take you more than 10 minutes;) I don't know how salon nails really are because I never had some... But I think it is also job related.. If you have a job where you have to do a lot of stuff which could break your nails I would do salon nails. Because I worked in a clothes shop and I broke my nails all the time.. All girls with long nails had artificial ones:) But now I'm a student so my nails really don't break easily (also because I have strong nails..) :) I hope I could help you a little:) xx Sarah
Another important point: To get long nails like mine on the picture it takes a lot of time! I think it took me about 5 month until they were that long! But I don't know how fast your nails grow:) If you want pointy nails soon and your nails are not very long now, I would consider this;)
So cool Erika! Go for it:D And if you don't like them: they grow again;) My inspiration to shape them like that was always Rihanna's nails! (Although she has them squared now^^) xx Sarah
I'm not sure how. Feel about them. For some reason I scratch myself when my nails get longer, so I usually keep them pretty short. They're definitely eye catching though.

Are they easy to maintain? And do you think it would be best fro me to go to a salon to get them shaped or should I do it myself?
Your nails are gorgeous btw! (:

My nails are already very long, about the same length as yours. Thanks for your advice, I've decided to go for it! (:

Too pointy and they look like daggers or claws. A softer point is not so bad.
