Hello girls so I'm trying to go platinum and so far this is how light I've gone, I'm going to wait a couple more weeks before I touch my hair again but I was wondering if anyone has any tips? Should I bleach my hair more? or add color? I've made my own toner out of some old blue hair dye is there anything else I should know? At this point I don't want to go to a salon I'm more of a do it yourself type =]

I would add a professional toner to help take out the brassy and copper tones and then go from there, depending on the color of your hair before you started working with it, if you touch it anymore it may start to break off. I took my sisters hair from black to white with only bleaching it three times with a 40 developer and using a toner after the third time. :)

Make sure you deep condition your hair, wash it as little as possible, and ALWAYS use a heat protection spray or cream especialllyyyyy when you're putting so much chemicals in it heat could just add to injury. Hope I helped! xo

Redken shades EQ work as a really good as toner as well a demi permanent i wouldn't know where to get them maybe you would be able to find it online ?? but im not sure ..do try to get violet /blue based toners.. my fave one from Shades are the NBs they leave a nice sandy blonde not to cool and not to warm it would be perfect to put over that base you have now until your ready to lighten you hair again . i recommend waiting a few weeks before lighting try doing treatments in your hair it will help to gain some strength from the lightner ... you just need to be careful leaving on toners with ashy tones because it might turn blue or violet if left to long

i know you would be able to find it in a pro beauty supply store if you have any friends that are hairstylist or going to beauty school see if they can find it for you and maybe help you with it .. i know ive seen a few web sites that sell redken i just dont know if they were legit .. or maybe you can go to Sallies beauty supply and ask for them to help you find a toner thats right for you and the goals you want to reach with you hair :)

I have peviously been there and done that twice. As i did not learn my lesson the first time i went and did it again. I would stringly recomend a good salon to do it. I used to have lovely thick healthy hair an now its so thin and snapping rapidly! But this is my own experience, i was told this might and might nor happend and of course im learning the hard way. Good luck with it anyways! I loved being platinum blonde! Damn my dark brown hair 😃

i think you should go platinum blonde i think i would look really good:) i want to do the same with mine

If your going to do it yourself, you at least need salon hair care products to keep your hair in shape. Their are 2 types of conditioners and treatments, strengthening (protein) and moisturizing. You need one or the other, or both. If your hair is well moisturized but weak, you will need strengthening. If your hair is strong but is dry, you need moisture. If you are lacking both, you need a hair repair treatment. I suggest doing a treatment before bleaching again then bleaching a week or two later then toning. However I do suggest going to Sally's and getting a professional dye to tone. Results will last longer than the blue your have (if it is simi-permanent) and it will not damage. You will need to lighten your hair though. Hope it helps.

A good toner is shimmer lights. You can get it at sally's beauty supply and it's under $10. It's a purple shampoo that is great for brightening up blonde and kicking that brass to the curb. Also i would reccommend just bleaching your hair because in the end it will be less damaging. Honestly the best way to go is by highlighting your hair once or twice so youve already got some platinum going on and then bleach it all over. BE CAREFUL. Condition condition condition!!!!!! Make sure you are using morroccan, argan, macadamia, or coconut oil to help. Also make sure you get a heat protectant that protects from uba/uvb rays. It's best to do it gradually over months so your hair can adjust. And please stay away from the pool! Good luck(:

I tried bleaching my hair and it dried out my hair:( so far, you seem to be doing right! Just invest in a good redken or bedhead toner:) Aftercare is very important too. So get a good hair mask and apply it on every 2 days for the first 2 weeks of your bleaching.

Get some natural hair oils too:) argan/olive/coconut. I would suggest coconut if you dont mind the smell!
