Hi, I'm having difficulty coloring my eyebrows. I have a lot of hair missing and every time I try to color them they just look ugly!! How can I apply eyebrow pencils without making them ugly?
i have to disagree with you elly. :( lol no offense though. i myself barely have eye brow hairs. they are very thin and just sooo ugly. i used to be a fan of the elf eye brow kit. but then i tried a brow pencil and foud that i have better precision with the pencil & it gives me a overall better look tha with the eyebrow kit. i use the NYC kohl brow/eye liner. its only 99 cents!

One thing you want to do is a gradual build on each side. Don't put on one brow, the the other. Put on a little left, then a little right, then a little left, etc. you get better symmetry in line and density.

I have naturally dark soft brows, so I just barely fill in the edges for nights out. But my sister has very pale, short, coarse eyebrows, and I once had to take care of my sister in laws when she shave half it off. My best advice: it's better too less than too much. This is what I do and everyone seems to be pleased: use a matte powder eye shadow that is a shade lighter than your brows but darker than your skin. Follow your natural brow and fill it in. By using a lighter color you make them seem fuller and more dimensions. Then, decide where you want to add depth to your eyebrows. In my opinion each space you add to should be equal to just a few hairs so it looks natural. Once you've decided this, take your brow pencil (or eyeliner pencil) and create hair like lines by making tiny check marks. The bottom should barely be a dot or a tiny line, and the top should not be longer than your natural brow hairs. Once you have your brow shaped right, take your brow pencil and continue you tiny check in strategic places throughout your brow so it evens the pattern you've filled in. My tip: never try to fill a brow in solidly unless you are going for that bold unearthly look.

Skip the pencil. Go with an eye shadow and a brow brush. You'll get a much better look that way.
