I am in my 4th month of going natural, and instead of doing the big chop or reverting back to relaxers, I'd like to have some it to do to get my new growth EXTREMELY straight. Btw I'm doing sew-ins as an alternative. Any suggestions?
You want to have your new growth come in extremely straight? The only way to make that happen is if you apply a flat iron to the new growth and I highly advise against that unless you want breakage and heat damage at the root ( I did that in highschool when I was transitioning from relaxers to natural hair and it did more damage than good). If you really want to see a healthy change I would stop with the sew-in's and let your hair grow out the relaxer and just go straight for special occassions. You can enrich your hair and scalp with healthy nutrients to gain not only length but a great looking natural 'do. I use to be stuck on stupid with the flat iron until my husband suggested I go back to wearing my hair naturally curly. Now you couldn't pay me to go back straight again and I actually get more compliments now being curly than I ever did straight.
I thought of you when I saw Dark & Lovely 6 Week Anti-Reversion Cream Serum. It helps smooth new growth and keeps the frizzies at bay. I received a sample of it in a magazine insert that also includes a $3 off coupon. If you like I can send it to you because it won't be of any use to me. Just send me your contact info via my email.... cyclequeen2011@gmail.com
