So, I want to dye my hair ombre. I have naturally light brown hair, I have been dying it jet black for about 3 years. Of course, the ombre process will require some bleaching. But I want to use as less as possible. BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO DAMAGE MY HAIR. Any tips? Products? I thought about gradually lightening my hair every time my roots grow (which is frequent) and using like a shampoo that sorta strips the color? would that work? Then eventually getting it dyed and bleached at the salon. I'm just trying to use a less bleach and damage as possible. HELP!!!!
I have always thought of using boxxed dyes and gradually going lighter. Now, I have never tried this, so you might be a guinea pig, but I don't see how it wouldn't work, and if it didn't nothing would go terribly wrong. You'd just have a different hair color. Hope this helped! :)
this is my hair. I don't think I can box dye it because it is sooo black. So does anyone know if a shampoo that strips color would work? if so, do you know a good one? or any other ways I can lighten it as much as possible with out bleaching (which i will eventually do). Like I said, I want to damage it as less as possible.
i have jet black hair and whenever i bleach it i j ust have to use a bleach with a highly concentrated developer (i have to do 40) in time if you keep lightening it it will be the same damage as the one 30-45 min bleach session. i suggest just using bleach with a highly concentrated cream developer then using split end repair treatments and deep conditioners and try using no heat but if your like me who straightens my hair everyday, make sure to use a good heat protectant and try to cut back on the heat. hope this was helpful (:
I went from that black to platniumn blonde recently. Although I did overall color, I think I can give you some tips.
Here's what I did:
A lot of research. More concentrated developers will ruin your hair (30-40 vol) and you want to get a bleach that is made for bringing dark colors to light. I use L'Oreal Quic Blue with Salon Care Vol.
I started with 10 Volume developer to see how easily my hair lightened. It may end up that your hair will take to the bleach really well, but it also may not. Work gradually up to a stronger developer, if you want to go super blonde.
Depending on where your hair is at the end of the first bleach, decide whether you like that color, or keep bleaching. This section will be your middle color. You will bleach the ends with another dose of developer. For instance, if you used 20 vol to get the first half of color, you can use a 10 (or 30, if you are impatient) vol on the ends to make them lighter.
Healthy hair tips:
I used Moroccan oil every time I showered (and after every time I bleached). I seriously credit that product to saving my hair (My blonde hair is as soft and shinny as my black ever was).
If the bleach is burning, TAKE IT OFF. You may be having an allergic reaction. However, some ITCHING is probably gonna happen. Don't worry about it.
Leaving the bleach on for more than 40 minutes does nothing. If it's not the color you want by the end of 40 minutes, take it off, shampoo, condition, and then try again in a week or two.
***If you really want to keep your hair healthy, take this slowly. It took me four months to go from black to blonde.
Pert shampoo strips color. I would go to a salon and just ask let them know your on a budget and you can wait a few months for the hair to be where you want it.
Since you have colored black hair, the only safe way to achieve this without ruining your hair would be to have a salon color cleanse your hair (mixture of bleach an shampoo), gently lightening your hair down to a color close to your natural color. Then doing the hombre and hair color in one step. I would NOT try to do this at home with bleach sold to consumers or box dye, your hair will hate you!
U can strip the black hair dye from your hair . I used a product called color opps which removed the blach hair dye and then i beached it because i wanted the ombre look and remember putting bleach in your hair will damage it and personally i regret dyiing my haur ombre because it horrible damaged and ive used oilds and deep conditioning masks and its still very damaged.
I just recently got my hair ombre'd! I was so scared my ends were going to be dead and dry. But I got this redken shampoo/conditioner from the salon and it instantly softened my hair! And it's a color protectant!
