Have you tried physical only sunscreens, like titanium/zinc oxide? Neutrogena's baby line contains physical block only. Even if you are allergic to chemical blocks, like avobenzone, mexoryl, etc, physical blocks should be safe for you to use. Obviously do a patch test first.
I'm careful to only use physical sunscreens (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) with NO chemical sunscreens, because the chem sunscreens turn me red and burn me. Used Eucerin once and my face hurt for a week and a half! For me, yes to carrots is the best sunscreen for body. I'm also fond of Queen Bee sauce's Bee Sunny powder.
I am allergic as well. The Neutrogena Baby line irritated me as well (arms broke out bad ended up on Benodryl for days). May try going to the doc for a script.

Anyone else allergic to sunscreen or block like myself? If so, how do you protect your skin?

I don't do anything about sun protection. And I have to watch every product that goes on my skin because of it.
