Hair slipping on Remington curling wand?

Okay I hope I can put this into something understandable.
I have long hair (almost to the bottom of my ribs) and when I curl my hair on this curling wand, since it's tapered, it slips down the barrel and since my hair is so long, I don't have room to curl the whole length of my hair.
Does this happen to anyone else?
I'm not sure if it just takes practice, or if I need to find a curling wand with a barrel that's even all the way down.
Remington has a new curling wand that is even all the way down and I'm thinking about getting it and selling the one I have if I like it better. I'm just not sure what I should do. Your opinion?

Try doing your hair in pieces/sections curl the part close to your roots then curl the lower end pieces

It may help since your not trying to wrap one super long strand around a little wand

This happens to me too, my hair is almost as long as yours and it's kind of a hassle to use haha. I do what Michelle does; I curl he top section nearest my roots first then go back and curl the ends. It's a pain in the butt but it looks nice haha

Every time I do that I get that awkward kink thing in it haha. I'll keep trying that, but thank you for the help!

Use a curling iron, instead of the curling wand.
