What's your favorite cruelty-free brand? I want to have a friendlier make up collection, but I don't know about any good (not over priced!) make up brands. I could go on mybeautybunny, but it would take forever to sort through all those brands.
Hard candy is available at wallmart! Urban decay is also cruelty free :) I really suggest just lookin around at different makeup brands that you have and googling "is ____ cruelty free?"
Ive been a vegetarian for 10 years and a vegan for 5. Finding cruelty free brands is always a bit of a challenge haha
Nyx! You can always do the easy route at the store. Just look for happy bunnies at the labels. The leaping bunny is the new version. The old version is a happy bunny face with the ears that almost resemble a heart.
Just so you know, Urban Decay has become a "flip-flop company" and DID want to go sell in China in June which (sometimes?) requires testing and they took off their "cruelty-free" label for a bit, so that may be something to think about, just in case. Some people have gone back to UD while others haven't at all because they certainly were not amused by this.
I would recommend NYX, Sleek, E.L.F, Urban Decay (even after the whole considering selling in China scandal), Barry M and Boots own brand. I'm yet to try Sugarpill but I've heard nothing but great reviews :)
Urban Decay and Hard Candy. Here's the deal with Urban Decay, and why Im not mad at them: no, I don't think they made the right decision when they decided to sell in China. I am very glad they revoked that decision, and cosmetic animal testing makes me angry. HOWEVER: if we as citizens had as much gumption and anger over other corporations selling out to China, perhaps we would still have a strong industry base in the US. I think global economy is important, but not at the cost of the well being and trust of communities that have supported your corporation for generations. I would not be happy if UD had followed through with their plan for China, but I won't make an example of them when they realized their mistake and are trying to make good on it. Instead let's focus on what we can do to fix the companies in our own countr(y/ies).
Are you affiliated with any other companies?
"We do not have any retail affiliations with any other companies at this time; we are an independently owned company."
Do you test on animals?
"We do NOT test on animals or endorse such practices. Our products do not contain animal derived ingredients. Beeswax has been replaced by synthetic beeswax and lanolin has been replaced by Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladinpale-2. We currently support HSUS and are partners with PETA in the Caring Consumer Project. Please see our philosophy page for further explanation on our company."
My favorites would totally be Hard Candy and ELF cosmetics!! I try to stay vegan in products/food whenever possible so I understand what you're saying :)
great question ! I only use cruelty free products my fav is Urban Decay but I also love Tarte, NYX, Nuance, Physicians Formula, Milani oh and Sugarpill and Glamourdoll eyes, Houglass and recently started buying Makeup Geek. very affordable

E.L.F. is an independent company. I pulled this information straight from their FAQs (http://www.eyeslipsface.com/faqs):
Are you affiliated with any other companies?
"We do not have any retail affiliations with any other companies at this time; we are an independently owned company."
Do you test on animals?
"We do NOT test on animals or endorse such practices. Our products do not contain animal derived ingredients.
