Hey everyone! I would love some ideas on how to get my makeup, nail, accessories under control. I have a very small apartment with little room for big storage. Any ideas?
I use fishing gear ... No lie. The ones I use are clear and stackable. I paid about $8 each. I have one for eyes, one for bronzes, blush ect and one for the basic face starters ( primers, concealer, foundation ect). I actually use a storage case that is meant for 12 gauge shot gun shells for my lipsticks ... Weird but works perfect. My lipgloss I store in a glad bowl with the bottoms up so I see what color they are easily. Same with my liners and brushes.
I use the snapware for my nail polish collection. They have several sizes available so smaller may work better for you. You can also look into crafts store for more compartmentalized storage. Target and Bed Bath and Beyond often have a nice selection of storage options too... Of course there is always the container store if you have one.
I actually just organized my stuff last week! I also live in a small apartment (which came fully furnished in a way that didn't make a lot of sense--5 small tables? And a desk in the bathroom?! Not a vanity, a white desk IDK). I put pigment powder/glitter in the top compartment of my train case and all my lip stuff in the bottom, as the bottom is slightly larger. I have most of my brushes in a pretty cup meant for post-toothbrushing gargles and the ones that were double ended or fat I put in a pencil pouch. I have a matching toothbrush holder that's divided down the middle so I put eyeliner in one side and lipliner in the other. Both are from Bed Bath and Beyond. I put all my mineral makeup in the desk's big, shallow drawer, divided by type and in the order I'd use them. For the primers, loose powder base, undereye brightener and mascara--I just stuck them in the medicine cabinet but now that I have a lit magnification mirror and don't have to stick my face in the sink mirror to see I'll probably move them. I also put my duplicate products and pressed palettes in one of the small drawers since I won't use them often, as evidenced by the fact I forgot about them.
How I store my makeup is in a tall organizer with drawers I purchased from Walmart. These are inexpensive, and you can buy multiples and stack them on top of each other. For me, I like to keep everything in m tiny 10x10 room, so everything I store usually needs to go upwards to conserve space. I currently have two. There is a smaller one with three drawers the has misc on top, lip in the middle and face on the bottom. Then a second storage system with eyeshadows (which will soon need it's own storage entirely) and then brushes. This particular system has two larger bins on the bottom and two smaller on the top so I store hair products and other things that I don't need to always have out on my dresser to help conserve space. Walmart has many styles available, so you can always check there! Everything is usually white or black but once in a while they will have colored options.
