I am! I went to an Aveda Institute for 5.5 months on a full time term and graduated. Upon graduation I took a test from the state board and got my license.
Find a beauty school and check how many hrs you will need in order to apply for a license. I think most states require 600hrs, but some require more/less. I have been an esthetician for about 2 years and I love what I do!
I'm in school right now. In CA it's 600 hours.... I'm 180 into it and love it!!! But if your only interested in being a MUA than you don't need the schooling... You'll get more education on facials and waxing etc.
I'm an esthetician in Tennessee - I went to school for 750 hours && took a state board. I'm back I'm college now though because of a lack of demand for estheticians in my area. If you live in a small town I would highly encourage you to research job and salary opportunities before going to school for it. I feel like I wasted a lot of time && money on something that I won't be able to use for a career
I went to community college full time for 2 semesters. Got my license and glad I got it under my belt. I'm a pro makeup artist and incorporate skin care and educate my clients with each makeup application. You could work for plastic surgeons, med spas, day spas, laser centers, etc. the sky's the limit!! Go for it!

I have had my esthetician license for 10 years, and haven't used it in 8. What is it that you want to do?
