Nars has a great travel brush set for $75. Sigma brushes are great as well and its 12 brushes.

I'd suggest going for cheaper line e.g elf. Buy one of their sets and that way you can see which sort of brush you like and don't like without wasting loads of money on something you won't use again. Then, when you've decided what you do like you can purchase a better brand.

"Real Techniques" by Samantha Chapman are really nice, inexpensive brushes. You can purchase them at Ulta as sets or individually. Samantha (Sam) Chapman is a makeup artists who is one-half of the sister duo "Pixiwoo" on Youtube. I have M.A.C., Eve Pearl, Bobbie Brown and Sephora Professional brushes and the "Real Techniques" brushes are just as good as my expensive ones. They are very soft and have a very comfortable handle.
