I have very red lips naturally. So I find that when I wear a nude lipstick or pink it doesn't come out that good over my natural lip colour. Any recommendations for a good one or anyone have any tips/tricks to make it work? :)

Illamasqua probably (more than likely) has some lipsticks that could help you out. One of my favorite drugstore lipsticks is the Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Soft Nude. If that doesn't work for you try blocking your lips with a concealer and powder, or literally just apply a white base as you would to your eyes. Hope this helped! :)

Myth from MAC is an awesome nude and Snob from MAC is a very light pink that looks awesome. Also try the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams

@Dana thankyou. I've tried the colour burst one that you mentioned and it didn't come out on my lips very good either. Do they do Illamasqua in the UK?

@Ashley I'm the same with the deep plum too. The revlon kissable lip balm tint one! It's an amazing colour I'm just fed up of having a red lipstick or a plum lipstick :(

@Aley Thankyou! I'm going to go in to my MAC store today and have a look. I think where I live in the UK I can only buy NYX online, which isn't any good because if it's not right I can't tell without trying it first.

MUFE Rouge Artist Intense makes crazily pigmented lipsticks. I have naturally strong coloring to my lips too (not red, which I'm kinda jealous of-- that sounds pretty!) and these suckers cover my natural pigmentation with no effort. For a cheaper/drugstore option, maybe try the Covergirl Lip Perfection lipsticks. I only have 2 of those and they are pretty wild colors, but those are so pigmented and rich that I'm sure the whole range is as nice. Good luck!

@Courtney thankyou, I will look in to the MUFE range and see what I can find. Although again being in the UK I'm not sure where I could find it in a store to be able to test it before I buy it. Bought so many online and been disappointed once trying at home. The natural red lips i guess is sort of pretty but I envy girls who can wear nudes and pinks without red coming through the colour :(

@Ashley I'm the exact same I always test it in the store on my wrist and I'll think it looks really pigmented it should be great, but it isn't the case! I've tried covering my entire lip in a pink lip liner before applying pink lipstick but that doesn't work as my lips will crack or I'll still be able to see red! What I'd do for a naturally pale lip haha.

If you look at my display picture - that's my natural lips without any product on them what so ever.

Put a light layer of foundation over your lips before you start. It will help diminish the red as well as helping your lip color stick better. Then you could go for a darker tan color. If your lips are naturally red it will probably match your skintone better. HOWEVER if I had lips that gave me such natural color, I would rock them ;)

@Katelynn thankyou, I really just wanted a nude or pink as I have plenty of dark lipsticks, plum etc. so just wanted to have a lighter option. I do rock the natural colour everyday, as I don't tend to wear lip products on a daily basis. But I'd love to be able to wear a pink and rock that too :( I envy pretty pink lips!

Agatha by Kat Von D is a really nude color. It's like a stain so I'm sure it will cover the redness of your natural color!
