Hi! I want a good nail polish as a gift for someone and I saw Essie. I was wondering if Essie really is worth the price or not.

I have over 100 polishes & I like Essie's polishes but I don't love them. They tend to be more thin than other brands & take more coats for good opacity but they last the same as any other brand on me (about a week) but if you like the colors I would go for it. IMO they're shade range is limited mostly reds & pinks but they've been expanding out in the last few years. I prefer the fun color variety of china glaze which are also great quality

Yes, its my #1 choice but if its too pricey, get Sinful Colors at Walgreens, they have pretty colors & its $1.99 each, sometimes theres a sale at 99 cents each or BOGO (buy 1 get 1 free) depending on Walgreens :-)

I like opi, sinful colors, wet n' wild, and china glaze more then I like my Essie nail polishes. I personally don't think they're worth the price for just one!

@ Analisa B. - OPI and China Glaze cost the same as Essie. I like Essie because you don't have to put a top coat & it due to the formula; it last longer & doesn't clump on the brush over time like other brands.

I reallyyyyy love Essie. The color options and quality is great- plus they don't have the big 3 nonos in nail polish!

Absolutely no. If u want to splurge than go for Chanel cuz of colors or Dior or OPI. But not Essie

This should not be a question!! Essie has great colors for a decent price. Yes Chanel polishes are amaze and worth every single penny, but Essie is that "go-to" when you want a new polish without dropping the $$$!!

I would do a lot of research on specific colors that you want. Some are great, and some suck. If it were me, I would just buy Sinful Colors polishes. I have a bunch and mostly all of them are awesome! And only like $2, whereas Essie is like $8

Essie is really hit and miss. I have multiple in my collection and some are horrible where as others I am in love with. I would suggest buying 3 or 4 sinful colors polishes rather than 1 Essie polish. Wet n wild, Sally Hansen Xtreme - are good cheap ones! If you're gonna buy a more expensive polish buy OPI or china glaze!

Opi, I get mine for $6 at cosmoprof. I will never use anything but on my nails.

I love Essie's selection of colours. Not all of their colours are necessarily worth the price though, because you can sometimes get a pretty similar colour by a different brand for a cheaper price. If you're looking for a brand with a decent range of colours for a little cheaper, I'd try Revlon. Revlon also has an AMAZING top coat called Quick Dry Top Coat - I've used a lot of top coats by a lot of different brands like OPI, Essie, and Seche - but the Revlon one is the best.

Essie can also be streaky and you have to apply multiple coats to get your desired colour, so I'd recommend you go with OPI, China Glaze and Revlon.

I use Spa Ritual. it doesn't have nasty chemicals in it and its vegan. Pretty good color collection as well.

Try the Revlon polishes! You will be surprised by how amazing they are. I love them more than OPI...

Essie is NOT a splurge!!! It is a great polish with a wide variety of colors. Splurging would be purchasing a Channel or Mac nail polish.

As a gift to someone I really believe Wet n Wild and Sinful Colors make a great gift. Personally I think they are a bit underrated. I bought Nicole Kardashian Klohe has a little Lam-Lam and I love the color but the polish and brush are horrible! The best brush I've used on a polish is actually Wet n Wild.

I have never purchased Essie before until I got one in my Birchbox last month. They are okay to me but the price got me. I brought one for Breast Cancer Awareness but I guess every once in a while you can treat yourself or splurge!
