Hair dye color?

Okay, I have naturally curly hair, and when ever I brush it, The outsides of my hair always are a gold color. My hair is very healthy, I just got like a foot cut off. It is down to my sholders barely brushing them. I want to dye my hair a darker shade so my hair color is all even throughout my head, any suggestions?
