I agree with what's been posted so far, less really is more when it comes to makeup in a professional environment. Try looking at what the other ladies in your office are wearing and incorporate those ideas into your routine. Subtlety and good blending will be your best friends in the office. Good luck!
I would stick with Brown/black mascara and a creamy lipstick. Something that isn't overpowering, however, a red lip does command attention, so use it when you want to feel even more powerful. Also, doing a little neutral eyeshadow never hurt anyone ;)
I work in a professional environment and the one thing you should never wear is: bright eyeshadow. No bright greens, blues, purples, pink, etc. You can use color, but make it sheer and natural.
If you like color you can help yourself to a subtle pop of color on your lower water line. Otherwise stay with nude eyeshadow and light mascara. Also the only appropriate lip colors are light variations of pink and red. (:
I honestly think as long as you feel polished and clean, it shouldn't be a problem! Unless you work in a very conservative office, who says you have to be super boring?! If you feel uncomfortable go less, but it's self expression. There is a balance between looking professional, while sticking to your since of self!
I would recommend trying a tinted moisturizer with a setting powder if you have oily skin, than a matte brown color in your crease just to add a little definition to the eyes, and a brown or black mascara. And a light gloss on the lips. Natural blush if you want a bit of color, but use a light hand so it comes off natural.

Try not to overdo it with blush/bronzer & contouring. It can be a bit too much, if not done right
