I have the same problem! Well first off I had to cut down the amount of chocolate I ate per day (lived off of chocolate for years!) then for my moisturizer I use cetaphil and I use a pimple cream (that's prescribed) its called epiduo! Hope that helps!

I would try getting a deep cleansing facial from an esthetician to remove excess oils and extract from your pores. If you have sensitive skin you might have to try another type of facial. Next, at home, use a gentle cleanser like cetaphil or the balancing cleanser from Biore. Never use a cleanser that tingles or cools. That irritates pores and makes more oil. Next, use a mattifying moisturizer like Boscia 15 oil blocking moisturizer (expensive but I love it). Then use a setting powder that absorbs oil so you block out more. Also carry around Boscia blotting sheets. They are better for your skin than clean and clear. Don't over exfoliate. It sounds like you are. Only do it twice a week with an exfoliater that doesn't have beads or seeds. It's too harsh. It causes your skin to make more oil and it also irritates the existing acne. At night, try that acne cream or I use clean and clear persa gel. And check out all the stuff you use at beauty pedia.com. Best of luck and I know how you feel!

use a really thick grainy scrub and then use a peel mask and apply it to your skin let it sit until dry then the fun part you peel it off by letting it sit on your skin it usually seeps into the pores and pulls out the dirt i do this about twice a week you can do it as much as you need to solve your dilema

I have the same problems with you,you can try using alcohol-free toner, cetaphil face wash & i used calamine lotion (non-methol) every night before i'm off to sleep.Works something like mask & i used it very lightly before make-up to treat my acnes;)P/S:Dont exfoliate too much as it will strip off your skin & oils,i only do once or twice a week.

What about exfoliating with one of those facial cleansing sponges? My aunt uses them & I've always been curious if they work or just irritate skin because some look so harsh.

A good investment will be the PMD misrepresentation kit. It really helped my skin. I have major acne scarring issues and I can say for sure it really saved my skin. Next best bet will be an exfoliating lotion containing Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA). It gently exfoliates your skin. I know Mario Badescu has one but my favourite ia the NeoStrata one. It's sort of like a chemical peel. So the PMD gives you physical exfoliation and the AHA gives you chemical exfoliation. You wanna make sure you use the right kind of moisturiser for your skin type. It can clog your pores otherwise.

Sometimes your skin is only oily because of the products you use, honestly. Although its tempting to buy products that say they're oil free or contain alcohol, its better to put back some oil onto your face so that your skin won't have to produce that excess oil.

As for tricks... pore strips are really beneficial in my opinion. The Biore strips are the popular ones but I found better ones in these Asian beauty stores that uses seaweed as a natural cure for blackheads and pores. They're way cheaper and contain less harmful chemicals than the Biore ones. But Biore ones can be found in almost any drugstore so I guess it would be better to purchase those for convenience purposes.

The rest of the comments about the masks work pretty good too, I've tried a few of them.

And use blotting papers instead of putting on the powder. Staying away from foundation would be good too but it could be impossible for some people, haha.

I couldn't recommend Enza Essentials more for you. They have an entire system called their Extraction System- for oily skin. You can pick and choose the products that you want and buy them off the website: enza.com. Their website is also really helpful for different "skin profiles" and recommend tips for each type like ethnic skin care, athletic skin care, outdoor skin care, senior or middle-aged skin care, etc. It's been really helpful in helping me know what products to use as well as giving me some good tips to use when dealing with my specific skin type.

A great alternative to proactive is Acne Free... It has no fragrance (unlike proactive) and works wonders for oily/acne prone skin. Only 17-20 bucks at drugstores!
