Ok so im in highschool and i just started experimenting with makeup, right now i have a few lip products, eyeshadows, mascaras and that all. I have pretty good skin , just a little esczema that is under control, idk if i should try foundation? Whats your opinion? All are welcome, and if you have any other recomendations let me know!

I wouldn't use a foundation at your age, especially if you already have great skin, there's really no need.. Unless you're attending a dance or special event and want to look perfectly polished. Maybe start out small by trying a BB cream, or tinted moisturizer. It'd be most unfortunate if you already had great skin and started using a foundation that ruined your skin or made you break out. Like they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it :) and remember that less is more.

Also, if you're looking to expand your makeup collection and experiment, I would suggest getting an eyeshadow palette with a multitude of colors, that way you can experiment with lots of different looks. A palette with 9+ shadows can be very versatile, and brands like elf offer palettes with 32 to 100 or more shades for great prices. I don't think any elf products cost more than $10-15.

I've heard really good things about the elf primer, lots of people will compare it to Urban Decay Primer Potion because it's apparently really great quality for just $1. I bought it but have yet to use it, so if you get around to it, please give me the update :)

I agree with Falah about the foundation part. :) no need to cover up that great skin but starting off with the ELF palettes are great since you are a beginner. Coastal Scents and BH cosmetics are also great to use. :) have fun experimenting and yes, less is better. Don't wanna cake your makeup because it will clog up your pores. I've learned that in beauty school.

Jennifer is right, Coastal Scents and BH cosmetics carry huge palettes for really great prices, but those are online retailers. I have the Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette and I got it on sale for about $13 before tax and shipping. Also if you're interested in trying different brushes, I've heard great things about the brushes from BH cosmetics, and those are also very affordable!

Also, since you're a beginner, remember that YouTube is going to be an AMAZING resource for learning about all the tips and tricks of makeup application. There are so many great YouTube make up gurus out there. Michelle Phan is very popular YouTube guru who makes great tutorials.

When i started makeup i was in 6 th grade and i started with beauty guru Lauren lukes palletes they are amazing! I dont suggest anyone under the age of 16 to use foundation because younger girls have such nice skin already. Although if you do want some color i suggest a tinted mosturizer! Hope this helped!(:

Hi...I am also a beginner...well between beginner and intermediate haha...I started off with and still use BH Cosmetics eyeshadow pallettes. I was very interested in good brushes so I started off with a few Sigma, then tried Bdelleium...and Im now into Crown Brushes. MY Beauty Mark also has good eyeshadow pallettes I will be trying them out soon. I LOVEEEEE BRIGHT COLORED PALLETTES!!!

An easy way to build your kit is to look at the feature(s) of your face you like most. For many that's either their eyes or their lips. Some girls do cheeks, blemish free skin, or even their noses. From there build an arsenal of makeup that will play on your favorite feature. As a personal example, I was told when I was 12 or 13 that my lips were very full. Enter lots of bright lip glosses, lipsticks, and and lip balms to fill my bag. I made sure my lips were always hydrated, day and night.

Since your skin is clear and blemish free just get yourself blotting papers or a powder. Foundation is only when your skin is covered with marks and issues.

Eyeliners were a scary thing for me when I first dove into makeup. "A sharp pointy crayon near my eye? No thank you." You can ease yourself into it by practicing with your darkest eye shadow colors. Use an angled brush (try E.L.F. makeup brushes from Target. Lots of brush value for very little money!) and start dotting/dashing lines. As a bonus, eyeshadow is much easier to clean than eyeliner when you mess up.
