Babyliss! Go to a beauty supply house & see what you can find that works in your budget. Ceramic is definitely a plus. Babyliss from what I just googled makes irons in the range of 30-$200 bucks. I got one of the fancier ones, but I can tell you this, I once bought a cheapo one & regretted it, my hair did not slide right. PS. Don' forget some thermal protectant spray!
I love my Sedu ionic ceramic pro. Love, love, love. It's Folica.com's best-selling flat iron :) It's a bit pricey, but Folica sells for discounted prices (not quality! Speaking from experience!), and they run a lot of specials, so you can get a really good bargain. I'd check them out if I were you :)
I LOVE MY CHI! you can get the more professional ones, or the ones they have at target cheaper (i've been wondering if those are good as well). but if price is not a problem, try biosilk. its what my mom uses in the salon and it is beautiful :)
i've had numerous chi's, they don't last as long as i'd hope. If you do decide to get a chi, get the original. For some reason, the limited editions and the plastic cover ones don't work nearly as good. I personally don't use a chi on my hair anymore, because i feel that it burns my hair, same with my babyliss. It makes your hair smell burned, even when using heat protectants. My sister has an ion (you can find at sally's) and it works amazing, and leaves your hair looking and feeling silky.

Chi's are amazing! But usually expensive, you should be able to find a good price online though. Gives the perfect pin-straight look!

Look into Paul Mitchell. I absolutely love mine. I've had it for six years now and it's still as amazing as the first time I used it.
