I have a lot of damage to my hair (thanks to my cousin, she never follows thru with what I ask) and I want to know if the Splat color kit will work. Also should I color it then cut it? I know I'll need to cut my hair with all the damage I have and will get. Thanks for the help
I'm not sure about the splat kit but you should absolutely color then cut. I like to use a leave in conditioner after coloring my hair to try and repair it some.
I have naturally dark ish brown hair. I lightened it using a garnier dye for dark hair. After that I colored over that with Manic Panic's Vampire Red. I bought it on amazon for about $9 and I was in love with the color. It runs red when you wash it, but splat will do the same. I used splat in the past and it made my hair pink, not red. I'd reccomend trying this if you're looking for a deep red color. Mine was very similar to this color http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--OF3FCaJj...
I used the slap kit but I found more affordable to just buy the bleach separately I use a bright red semi-permanent Which I get at any beauty supply store and plus the red fades a lot so is useless to buy the kit every time your going to retouch and a bottle of the semipermanent only costs 3$ and the kit is like 10$
no splat, yes manic panic! its what many professionals use at a not-so-bad price. spend the extra few dollars on their "amplified formula"! it lasts longer :)
if you have dark hair and want that Rihanna red color, i suggest going to sally's spending 6 bucks on l'oreal paris's hicolor highlights in red. also, you have to get the 30 volume developer. there's no bleaching what-so-ever. however, the first time you dye it, it won't be as vibrant as you'd hope it to be, so wait a day and then dye it again. that should get you the brightness you're looking for. and do your research on red hair color. it takes a lot of work. trust me knowing from experience.
