HI LADIES so i have a question for you, as you might know from my previous posts i died my hair gold blond and now i face the big concern of "the blonds" which is the maintenance:
1.How do i keep my hair color vibrant (good shampoos ,conditioners, FOR blonds)
2. How OFTEN should i recolor my hair?? its been 2 weeks its already kinda weird
THANK YOU<3<3
I found the biggest thing for blonde hair (especially being naturally blonde myself) is it had a tendency to pick up iron and other minerals changing the color of the blonde. Malibu treatments once a month do wonders, as far as shampoo, I've used different color protectant shampoos, but honestly I look more for shampoos that keep my hair healthy, since being blonde you can't really "fade" color like a brunette. I wouldn't recolor more than once a month, as it can be quite damaging. As far as it being weird, what color is it now? Also / back to shampoos, I like the john Frieda products for blonde hair, they are a less expensive shampoo and it did alwys make my hair seem brighter - but it created too much oil for my scalp. Redken also makes a shampoo called blonde glam which is awesome. I hope this helps!
if you died it from a darkish brown it may have a greenish tint to it after awhile so I'd recolour whenever that starts to come through or when your roots become noticeable
Check out my latest hair care video http://www.youtube.com/afchica101 I have blonde highlighted hair and talk about it all. My hair has been highlighted for well over 5 years
I like to use a purple shampoo once every two weeks, you can use it more often if you need to. Don't leave it on your hair for too long or you will end up with gray or lavender hair. I also retouch my roots every three weeks. :)
When I was blonde a few months back, I found the most useful things I had was purple shampoo. I used it every couple of days, and my hair was rarely brassy. As for maintaining color, using shampoos and conditions specially formulated for blondes will keep the blonde vibrant. Don't bleach your hair every time your roots show up! Just ask your stylist to do your roots, and maybe a toner ( if you don't go to a salon, there are many root touch up products on the market ) ALSO, make sure you take lots of good care of your blonde hair by using heat protection sprays, hair masks and leave in conditioners! Hope I helped!
Ive been dying my hair blonde since i was15 im 23 now., im nautraly a dirty blonde, but i like that bleach blonde color. To keep your color & to take out that brassiness, use a toner, or a purple shampoo(i use shimmering lights) Its at sallys or ulta, its cheap & it works! You deff wanna use shampoo for color treated hair, or blonde hair. Theres alot of good shampoos made for blonde hair, i love redken Blonde Glam. BedHead-Dumb Blonde...If thats too pricey,Pantene has a blonde shampoo&cond. & John Fredia has a few & theyare the best!!! Also to keep your hair soft & healthy use a leave in cond I use Its a 10.& Heathly Sexy Hair-soy milk leave in cond. & always use a heat protecter. Hoped this helps :)
Girls you are my saviours!!! Soo many great tips from gorgeous blondies:))) I have heard soo many great things about the purple shampoo but every store I go to they offer sooo many if them starting from like a $4 to 60 ,I'm just confused with that what do u think
I would deff get the shimmering lights..its cheap & it works. Also theres a little purple packet you mix it with your dye, i forget what its called but its only 1$ & it helps big time..Il ask my grandmom what its called & get back to you.
When I was blonde(er) I really liked John freidas shampoo. He makes different ones for different shades and it helps. I have natural red in my brunette hair, and so after a month or so I had the problem that my hair had an orange or brassy look. After another month it subsided a lot and I talked to the colorist who did my hair, and she used a different base the next time. That helped.
I use Shimmer lights (purple shampoo) and it works great... but only use it every other wash! If you wash your hair often use it every few washes. It can cause your hair to have a purple tint, but if this happens just wash it with regular shampoo and it fixes it. It definitely works and keeps your hair a more white color than brassy. you can get a 31.5 oz bottle from Sally Beauty Supplies for like 17.00. Last time i went they had it on sale for cheaper so definitely worth it and that huge bottle has lasted me FOREVER! Hope this helps
