Fall is right around the corner and my skin is already dry because I have neglected it for a while now. My problem with lotion is the sticky feeling, but I have come to the point where I just have to suck it up because my hands are becoming so dry due to the fact I am somewhat of a germ freak and the constant washing makes them dry. Along with my hands, my legs and feet need moisture.
I really would appreciate some good and affordable lotions, Bath and Body Works smells good, but I don't feel like they do that much for the skin but make it smell good.. so we can skip that. Unless there is a product from there that really works.
I just started using this hand creme and mixing it with lotion for other parts of my body to help it apply to my skin better. But its really not ideal for everyday use because the sticky feeling it leaves since it is a really thick formula.
I have the same problem with dry skin and hating the sticky feeling. I found the best lotion I have ever used at Sally's. It's called Hempz. It's not sticky even when you first apply it and its really moisturizing! Ohh and it's affordable!
I have eczema so I know how much dry skin sucks. Lately I've been using the Nivea Creme. It's really nice! It's think and soaks in pretty quickly and doesn't smell toooo bad. If you need something SUPER moisturizing and thick, I really recommend Bag Balm at night. Put a thick layer on and either wrap the area in an ace bandage or cut the toe out of a long sock and use that. It does smell pretty bad, but once you wrap it you can't really smell it. If you really can't stand the smell Vaseline works wonders. I use it the same as bag balm if I don't need ridiculous moisture/ I'm not taking a shower the following morning.
I also have dry skin and i would highly recommend trying the True Blue after sun moisturizer which contains aloe vera. It brings a high level of moisture to skin making it both soft and smooth. It doesn't make my skin either shiny, or oily i LOVE it and i am sure you will as well!! It also smells great and it lasts much longer than an hour. If you have any other skin questions let me know!
If you live anywhere near a trader joes check out their moisturizing cream. It's less than $5 a bottle and it's awesome. Also, avoid anything with mineral oil in it. It will keep your skin from absorbing the moisturizer effectively.
I to used to have really dry skin but not to worry...my blog has the answer to this! The products i recommend i swear you will love. They'll smell great and truly improve skin quality! http://prettyfierce240.blogspot.com... My skin used to peel or get flaky for no reason... not any more! I truly love the products!
I'd recommend Origins Precipitation Extra Continuous Moisture Recovery for Very Dry Skin. It's super hydrating but not oily or sticky at all! My co-blogger also wrote a post on lotions/creams for dry skin a while ago. You can check it out here: http://beautyplaylist.tumblr.com/po...
I'm been in love with the body butters from TheBodyShop since i got my first one years ago. The have a lot of different scents and are designed for dry and others for normal skin. You get a big amount for your money, and the quality speaks for it self.
In my area this is the best bodybutter i can get my hands on, without paying a crzy amount of money, at my local spa ;)

I love using Coconut oil to moisturize. You just have to give it a few minutes to sink in so it doesn't get all over clothes or bed sheets.
