I heard on TV that the shelf life of fragrance is only about 2 years before the scent molecules change. Is that true? Because I've got a bottle of perfume from high school that I just can't seem to part with because it brings me back.

The scent molecules may change, however the difference may vary depending on the formulation of your fragrance. I personally don't pay attention to expiration dates for perfumes, but I do make a point to not store them in direct sunlight. I've had several fragrances for YEARS, and it's still fine to use.  =)

i agree with Soma. the molecules can change and alter the smell but if you keep it in a cool dark place, it should last well beyond 2 years. i've even heard of some people keeping their fragrances in the fridge : )
