So after years of saying "I will never get dreads" I'm finally doing it. My most concern of getting them used to be cutting my hair once I got tired of them but my fiancé pretty much talked me into getting them. Please please please I need advice and input on getting and maintaining dreads!

What's the "teenage" phase?

Hmmmmm, the "teenage phase is when theyre not quite locked all the way..........and not quite as long as you would want them to be so those cool styles or even pulling your hair back is a challenge.

I recommend looking up "quotidianlight" on YouTube. She makes loads of videos on the subject. Well informed too.

I had dreads for many years and loved them! You can do such fun things with them and I loved how I could tie them up on top of my head with no ponytail holders. You could just tie them on themselves (when they get long enough). I don't have them anymore and did have to shave my head, but the process of growing out my hair was fun too. You just need to find someone who can help you through all the different hair lengths so you don't have an awkward phase. It's fun! I loved having mine.

Having just made extensions last, night. Be prepared for the undesired amount of twisting and turning that will be done for upkeep.
