I've been cleaning mine but I'm not sure if I'm cleaning them right. So beauties, what is your brush cleaning routine? Also, how often do you clean your brushes? I have acne-prone, sensitive skin. How often should I clean my brushes?
Thanks xox
Ashley
In your case you should clean your brushes weekly, especially your face brushes if you have sensitive skin. I use Purity by Philosophy to clean my brushes with warm water, about every week and a half. For deep cleaning I use MAC's brush cleanser.
You should be washing your's every 5ish days, I have the same combination skin, I personally clean mine every 2 days either with shampoo/Conditioner and warm water or if in a hurry MAC's brush cleanser.
Here is a suggest way to clean your brushes after a busy day of clients or at the end of a week (from CHIC STUDIOS curriculum):
Lay a paper towel down.
Apply a small amount of soft soap (or shampoo) to each brush. NOTE: One pump of soap will be enough for 6-10 brushes
Under warm water, circle brush hairs in a figure 8 motion to remove all product. NOTE: Be careful not to get the handle wet, as this will damage the handles over time
Once brushes are clean, take an area of the paper towel and do similar figure 8 motions to remove excess water. Then, place on the side of a counter or table to allow brushes to dry naturally. If possible, leave brushes overnight to completely dry
After the brushes are dry, spray with 70% or higher alcohol and brushes are ready for use.

I clean my brushes once a week, or more if I switch up and use different colors one day. I use japonesque brush cleaner. THE BEST out there! xoxo

Sonia Kashuk brush and sponge cleanser. But when that's out, I'll go back to using regular shampoo.

Hi Ashley!

Hope that helps!!
