Ok beauties, I need some help with my skin! I have trouble in my t-zone with breakouts. I feel like I've tried everything with no success. I've tried Proactiv, Clean and Clear, Say yes... nothing. My skin is also pretty sensitive so when I use products with salicylic acid it can be irritating and drying. I also get big red bumps in between my eyebrows after I pluck. It seems as soon as one disappears another one pops up. Maybe I'm allergic or sensitive to the metal in my tweezers? That's how sensitive my skin is... Any advice or suggested products would be greatly appreciated!!
If you think your breaking out because your having a reaction to the stronger cleansers I would try Cetaphil gentile skin cleanser. It's possiblt the most gentile cleanser I have tried.
Proactive is definitely for people with "true acne" Do you feel dry anywhere else? If you're using something for true acne when you actually just have breakouts it could be stripping your skin, which in turn can create more oil which causes the breakouts. I would try something more gentle. Cetaphil cleansers are super gentle and still clean the skin. When you tweeze or wax it is pretty common to break out...on any skin type.
I agree with Hannah A. if you dont have acne and just have break outs, proactive could be hurting yr skin more. Proactive is for people who have loads of acne all over. Like she said try some thing more gentile, or try an oily skin wash. Not and ACNE regime, and oily skin regime. You may just need something to control the oils on yr skin but not so strong like acne washes. Also try drinking like 2-3 glasses of watter. when your body is lacking in watter it producess EXTRA oil.
maybe try Marks "that's deep" cleanser and the "matte chance" mattifying lotion. they arnt pricey buit if you really dont like them you can really retrun them even AFTER you have opened them and tryed them :) so their isnt much you cna loose.
i have breakout too *--* and its very annoying, how about trying to use Tea Tree Oil, tea is very good for sensitive skin like us.. Any kind of brand is fine, you can try from The Body Shop one thou..

Hi April,
To keep your pores clear, use a 1)Murad gentle acne treatment (a soothing acne treatment for sensitive skin contains a TINY amount of salicylic acid, antibacterial tea tree oil, lavender oil) in the trouble area every day-every other day. I am a Esthetician and my sensitive skin clients love it! After tweezing apply 2) Murad sensitive skin soothing serum it is amazing post-hair removal. It calms & soothes irritated skin and even reduces redness of contact! I love it! I use it all over my face, because I use retin-a for acne. 3) Make sure you wipe your tweezers with rubbing alcohol before and after you use them. Don't get waxed or threaded you prob will be too sensitive.
I'd have to agree with Dita on using Tea Tree Oil! I don't have acne, I just occasionally get breakouts. I started using Tea Tree Oil about a year ago, and I've had no problems with it. Tea Tree Oil is an herbal antiseptic and is great for acne. The one I use is Holista's 100% Pure Tea Tree Oil that can be found at Walmart for 7$. Holista also makes a 20% Pure Tea Tree Oil in a base of alcohol and water which is great on sensitive skin as it is concentrated. What I normally do is take off my makeup with makeup remover wipes, wash my face with a cleanser, and they apply the Tea Tree Oil to the areas that need it, along with a moisturizer (you can also just simply mix the oil in your moisturizer and apply it to your face) Good luck! http://www.holista.ca/products/item...
Hey Aprille! I came across your discussion and I couldn't help but make a post! For the past 3 or 4 years I had suffered from terrible acne, I'm probably over exaggerating but it was pretty bad. Today I have the skin I've always wanted and barely get a single break out. I've developed a sort of skin plan that I'll walk you through quickly.
Mornings:
Before you apply your makeup splash your face with cold water then dry. Do this 3 times. It will close your pores so they won't get clogged by the makeup and it will also help wake you up! I usually use a toner after this as well. Before I apply my make up however, I apply 3 layers of Aveno cream to hydrate my face. I wait for each layer to dry before applying another.
Nights:
I use dead sea acne clear face wash and I absolutely recommend it 100%. It really does help clear my face and it smells really nice! Anyway, after taking your makeup off and washing (any wash with beads will do as well, like morning burst) (also make sure you wash with warm water to open up your pores) I will sometimes also put on my dead sea face mask which really helps get any junk out of my pores, which will cause a break out or two but it is so worth it. If not I use the dead sea Night moisturizer cream. Every other night I will take rubbing alcohol and put it on a face wipe and rub it into my skin, it helps fight infection! I then use ozonol on any imperfections or breakouts I may have or feel coming on, I don't rub it in.
Also, if you eat junk, you will break out. You have to make sure to drink a lot of water and eat well. Since becoming a vegetarian even, I've noticed a difference. You can also take multi vitamins and zink! I recommend going to see a dermatologist about your skin as well as everyone's is different. Another thing, when buying any face products make sure there is no oil in it! This will make you break out for sure! Try going for mineralized makeup.
If you are staying at a friend's or are out late and don't want to wash your face try OXY pads. It will dry any imperfections that may come up over night but I don't recommend it for everyday use as it will make you skin dry. I hope this helped!
