I have one of the five drawer things you can get from Walmart. The first drawer has everyday things, second has eyeshadow/eyeliner, third has blush/highlighter, fourth has lipgloss, and last has lipstick/lipbalm.
I also have a little desk caddy thing that I use to store palettes.
I have a Micke desk from ikea. The shallow 2 drawer one. Then I got a bunch of mesh trays from Target in the office supply section to organize my makeup in the drawers.
At the minute all my makeup is all over the place, when i organize it i usually mess it up in the morning since i dont have time. However i'm planning on getting some separators which i can use!
I've had to expand to a cart that has 8 shallow drawers and 4 deep drawers. I prefer to keep my makeup away from the bathroom and moisture. Most of my shadows are depotted and kept in the large MUFE magnetic pans. I have a number of drawer organizers from The Container Store and an office supply store that I use to separate other products. Each drawer has its own purpose (primer drawer, face/cheek, pressed shadows, loose shadows, cream shadows and two lip drawers). I have room for growth as some drawers are empty or being used for things I don't use, but can't throw away. My brushes and eye liners are kept on top in pencil holders or the Sigma brush holder.
I store my everyday makeup in a train case from strictly, and the I store the rest in large Chanel cardboard boxes (they are prettier than plastic), I keep my brushes in an acrylic pot that I also put a Chanel ribbon around to make it pretty!
I have that colorful rolling cart from office depot and it's been good to use until recently.(Makeup overload!)I use the first drawer for new things, things that I need to use instead of just putting away.High-end eyeshadows I usually keep together and seperate from drugstore,so I know where to look for a certain brand. All my blushes, highlighters and bronzers are in one drawer.Lipsticks and lipglosses are also seperated, but all brands are mixed.I find having everything organized like that works pretty good,I know where the things I want to use that day are and don't have to spend much time searching.I use this pencil holder/storage container from walmart for all my brushes and liners as well :)
I have the MICKE desk from IKEA and the ISIS rolling cart from office max. I have a generic brand and the Sephora brand train cases for when I feel like packing my stuff up to do other ppl's makeup and the small LE MUFE Rock Forever train case that came with a kit... Amazingly, that still isn't enough, and I need to invest in some good drawer dividers for my vanity. =\
I use a clear rolling cart with different sized drawers to store my beauty products as well. I have also added some clear containers in various sizes to keep them all in place and sorted which allows for easy access without having to rummage through a bunch of products. I have also posted a video on my Website that shows how I store my nail polish and accessories, it's a few months old and I have since aquired so many more things that I may just have to make an updated video!!
I use things like food containers, stationary/pen holders, shelves and a bit of a cashier till even xP I've made a blogpost about it if you want to know more:
I keep everything in an old dresser that my mum built for me either when I was a baby or before I was born. From there I organize most products into deep drawer containers that I bought from The Container Store. On top of the dresser I have my brushes in pen cups I got at my local K-Mart.
I need to figure out something for my larger palettes (i.e., my UD Naked and Naked2 palettes + a MAC 15x eyeshadow palette and a freestyle palette I bought on Etsy that has a couple of my MAC blushes). I'm thinking of either acrylic drawers or something like Sterlite, but I'm not 100% sure yet. Oh, organization.
I've got a 'everyday make-up' stash box, which is from the Dutch drugstore Action. The eyeshadows and lipsticks I put on 2 little boxes and other things which don't belong in my everyday make-up and also not eyeshadow or lipstick I have it in a little make-up bag. But if you have got a big stash I think the most easy way to put it in little boxes by kind of products.
I don't have a crazy amount of makeup, but I love how I store mine. I have 3 storage bins from Target side by side. They're small and they each have three drawers. The first is for face, the next eyes, and the third lips. My foundations are stored upright on top of them and my brushes are in a holder on a shelf. Simple, perfect, yes.
I have two boxes that I painted: a bigger for palettes and a smaller for face stuff. Then there are two little 3 drawer things from Target [they're turquoise] that I keep lipsticks and smaller eye products in. Then there's one of those larger pen things from Office Max that I keep eyeliners and lipglosses in.
I would love to have a desk for my makeup. But right now i have all my face products in one long rectangular container & all my eye products in another. Then for my lip products i found a great alternative for a lipstick holder, using the container that acrylic nail tips come in. I wish that everything was a little more organized & that i had easier access to my face & eye products.
This is what I use. I love it. I got the desk at Ikea for less than $120 bucks. The drawer space isn't as spacious as I was hoping for, so I put shelves up.
A favourite is a rotating pencil holder that has four compartments the outer sides for make-up brushes one side (foundatiion, blush, powder brush ect.) then the other side( all eyeshadow, brow and lip brushes ect.) then use the middles compartments for your most popular go to lipsticks and lipglosses Hope it helps :)
just a big plastic container right now haha. i'm chainging my room around soon, so i'll get a make up table that has drawers in it. i think i'll have them in order i apply my make up, eyes, face, cheeks, lips.
I have 2 plastic container bins. I container contains my face stuff and inside this bin is also a bag where I put my lippies. The other container is my eye makeup. Then, my brushes are placed in a brush roll.
I watch a LOT of makeup tutorial storage, and many many famous beauty gurus (including the temptalia herself) have videos of their storage. she used clear acrylic bins that are only $3-6 each I believe (SUPER cheap compared to other brands) to store makeup
It's great because they have sooo many sizes to fit different makeup products, are sturdy, can fit into shallow drawers/vanities, and are clear so you can see everything you have
I keep this on my bathroom counter. I keep face/lip products in the top drawer, eye products in the second drawer, and nail polishes in the bottom drawer! I put my brushes, foundation, and anything else that doesn't fit in it on top, and I put my larger palettes between the bin and wall!
I use a storage bin from Target and then inside I have a wire pencil holder where I line up all my blushes, bronzers, and small eyeshadow quads. This is great for small areas for small collections which can fit in one of those tabletop plastic drawers (that's what I used to use) but this is much faster, looks much neater, and barely takes up any space on my small bookshelf. I also hang some of my earrings on the edge of the bin. I store my brushes and lip products/mascaras/tube products in plastic cup like containers which I lined with scrapbook paper to make it more decorative (not pictured).
