i was told liquid foundation is the WORST for my skin, i have oily acne prone skin as well as large pores, and was told to start using mineral makeup, but i cant get full coverage with mineral makeup.... My liquid foundation makes my face streaky and settles around my pores. what makeup should i be using??????
What powder foundation have you tried? There are some good brands and some horrible brands. IMO: The best (cost/quantity/quality) is Meow Cosmetics; the worst is Bare Minerals. If you really like liquid, try Korres. I've only heard good things, never tried it personally.
All skin is different. I'm oily and acne prone and prefer powder. I get great coverage with my powder foundation using a Sigma F82. Some people are oily and have no negative effects from a silicone-based primer and liquid foundation.
im obsessed with youngblood mineral powder foundation. you can also use their mineral rice setting powder before and it helps absorb more oil. actually theyre entire line is a mineral line. theyre liquid is a lighter coverage and the foundation is a medium to full coverage so it works the opposite way most cosmetics do. you can look up the website itll be able to go into more detail but im freaking obsessed with this stuff
Honestly, if you have acne, and big pores, I would be hesitant to use minerals unless they are really good. As Nichole mentioned, do not use Bare Minerals, it will drive you crazy, I swear it gives everyone gigantic pores!! Mineral makeup generally looks amazing on people with perfect skin, but otherwise it can be hit or miss. I like Pur Minerals because it isn't quite as obnoxious as some others, but it has Shea Butter in it, and can break people out even more. I would say that you would be just fine using a liquid as long as it is a good one. I think that it really depends on the specific product. I had never heard of Meow Cosmetics, but I looked it up, and that seems like a good brand! Plus they have tons of shades, and different formulations. And the ingredient lists are very short, and I can pronounce everything, which is something I always look at when looking into cosmetics. Quite impressive, I may need to try those out for myself =)
I've been using bareminerals for almost 5 years now. I've got acne prone skin, and do get at least one major breakout a year, but I don't know if that has anything to do with Bareminerals. I love the coverage and the feel of it on my skin, but now I think I may try something else!!
I don't go near liquids. As a greasy girl, it's the kiss of DEATH! I use milk of magnesia as my primer, and then use Monistat anti chafing gel in top. Then using a big concealer brush from essence of beauty (cvs) I apply my bareminerals. No big pores on me!
