I have always had a little mark or bump on my bottom lip. Nothing to huge same color as my lip just a different texture. Well within the last week or so it got bigger. Noticebly so to me. And now I keep licking or poking at it and I REALLY want to rip it off. Any ideas? I could maybe get a pic if that would help.
Don't rip it off! It may be a skin tag or a freckle of some kind; either way it would likely bleed and leave a scab and you don't want it to look like a cold sore. I would consult a dermatologist to check it out.
I know I am not SUPPOSED to rip it off lol. It's that overwhelming human urge to do it. The fact that it is dead center of my lip on my face is a great motivator. It's just weird it's been there forever and now it decided to get bigger....?
Yeah, you need to get that checked out. As for motivation to not mess with it in the mean time, remember that if it IS something... icky... and you rip into it then all you're doing is spreading those cells around to other parts of your lips, your mouth, your fingers, etc. It could be nothing serious, but it could also scar if you tear it off, so let a professional have a look.
You definitely shouldn't because I've done it before and it grew back bigger. I then went to the dermatologist and they had to burn it off. My lip was swollen for over a week and it was pretty annoying.

Get that looked at ASAP. Don't try to play Dr. when it comes to things on the face like that. Let us know how the visit goes.
