Hey my lovely ladies, I recently dropped my flat iron on the floor and one of the plates detached. Its still attach to the wire that heats up the iron. So it still heats up its just dangling every time i use it i need to push it back in. Is it trash or is there a wayto fix it? The flat iron wasn't cheap so i don't just want to throw it away. Is there some type of glue or something that can keep it in place? Please help

The same thing happened to me last year. I'm not sure if there's any kind of glue to fix it, but I just kind of pressed the plate in before turning it on and straightening my hair in a way so that the straightener is never open with the broken plate on the top side.
It's difficult, but it's usable until you have enough for a replacement.
I just asked my uncle and he said that a really good heat resistant glue is a JT weld glue thing found here http://jbweld.net/products/jbweld.php
It withstands up to 500 degrees, so I suppose it would depend on how high your straightener goes.
Good luck and be careful, I don't see gluey hair being in style anytime soon. ;3

I suggest buying a new flat iron. that's a big safety risk in my books. better safe than sorry!

^agreed! You don't want to mix hair, scalp and skin with exposed electrical components.
