Hello! I am a girl from Australia who is quite pale, and most liquid foundations I have tried have still managed to turn my face orange - even the lightest shades!!
Makeup is super expensive over here (our "drugstore" is as expensive as US MAC, and our MAC is even more pricey! Eek!), so I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions? Perhaps check out my photo to see my skin tone (I'm also new to this site, not entirely sure how this works!)
Preferably drugstore suggestions please, as I said most things are pricey here :(
Help a sister out please! :D I look forward to your suggestions, and thank you in advance!! xx
If you can't find a foundation that fits your skin tone. Have you looked into BB creams? Its blemish balm cream that's suppose to clear up pigmentation and if tinted, can be used as primer and foundation. They are pretty popular in Asia and some of the ones made Korea (such as Missha and skin 79) are grey colored, but when applied to skin, they adjust to your skin tone. Also, I think in Australia you can probably find the Garnier bb cream that isn't too expansive. Its slightly tinted, adjusts to the skin, and very moisturizing. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
I hear you, I've never had a drug store foundation match me perfectly. What I do is mix a white foundation with any foundation I buy. If you're wanting to be less orange, look for foundations that have a more neutral undertone to them. Good luck
Hey Krystal,
I find it really difficult to find drugstore foundations for my pale skin!
Have you tried Inglot? They have an AMC Foundation which is great for all skin types, has buildable coverage - from daytime natural up to a medium-full coverage - and comes in really pale colours in either pink or yellow tones. Here in Ireland, Inglot is really well priced, some items are half the price of Mac.
You didn't specify where you are from but according to the website, there are Inglot stores in the following locations;
AUSTRALIA
ADELAIDE
Rundle Mall
Westfield Marion
Westfield Tea Tree Plaza
Westfield West Lakes
BRISBANE
Loganholme
Westfield Chermside
Westfield North Lakes
MELBOURNE
Chadstone Shopping Centre
Epping Plaza
Highpoint Shopping Centre
Watergardens Town Centre
Westfield Doncaster
Westfield Southland
PERTH
Garden City Shopping Centre
Karrinyup Shopping Centre
SYDNEY
Westfield Bondi Junction
Westfield Chatswood
You can check it out on http://www.inglotaustralia.com
According to that site, the foundation is $42. I don't know if that is expensive or not.
Also try Illamasqua. They have a pure white foundation and lots of pale ones. I can't find the Australian prices but on the currency converter, they're working out about $30. Illamasqua is available in certain Myer stores. There's a list on http://www.illamasqua.com. Their liquid foundations aren't great but their new Skin Base is a really beautiful one.
Sometimes it's worth spending a little extra money on foundation to get the right one for you. It is the base of your entire makeup so even if everything else you buy is cheap and drugstore, your base will be a perfect match.
Instead of doing all that why dont you go to sephora or ulta and take to an expert cosmetologist for a suggestion, you might be getting your undertones wrong that's why the liquids doesn't match right. I have pale skin to ,probably lighter then yours but I have pink undertones so I have to mix foundations to get my match. You should do the same
We don't have Sephora or Ulta here or else I would Eninna :p
Thank you all for your suggestions!! I do love Inglot and have bought many things from there (I live in Melbourne c: ) and I have looked at their foundation but wasn't quite sure, I think I'll give it a look as it is a bit cheaper than MAC (by about $12) thanks! :)
(Yes, guys, please pay attention to where an OP is from before you recommend stuff!)
Another thing you can try is theatrical brands (e.g., Ben Nye, Kryolan, Graftobian). They would run paler than most mainstream foundations, and (generally) are more affordable than other brands.
If you do go to Inglot to try the foundation, ask for samples, of course. ;)
Hey :) I have super pale skin also, and i've found 2 foundations that really work for me so far.
Body Shop Moisture Foundation SPF15 shade 01 (which doesn't look orange on me at all, also the people at the body shop will match you to a shade)
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Ivory 100 is really pale too! Its my go to foundation at the moment! xxx
This a brand in the UK but its supposed to be soo amazing for pale faces 'dainty Doll' is a make-up brand that is specially for pale faces (made by nicole roberts from girls aloud) its not too exspensive and has the cutest packaging ever!
Ive had the same problem (also Australian) i just ordered Illamasquas Rich Liquid Foundation from Myer - they have a sale on up to 40% off some products and i think 20% off the rest until july 15th. I havent recieved my order yet but its worth checking out as they have quite a large colour range
I think it was $33 for the foundation.
