I have really dry, frizzy waves that tend to be really flat on top and poufs out at the bottom, so my hair ends up looking like a big triangle :| To solve this, I have been straightening my hair. I make sure to protect it from the heat and everything but it is still SO bad. Lately, I've been wanting to leave my hair natural, but I'm looking for a product that will take the dryness and frizziness away and get hair that is full of voluminous waves like the ads on tv. HELP!

One tip I can't stress enough about frizzy hair is that you have to get a hair cut that thins out the bottom layers. The frizziness makes it poofy thus putting a lot of weight on the bottom portion of hair. Also, how are you straightening your hair ? It'd do a world of wonders taking time to separate layer by layer and take it slowly.
As for the lack of volume on your top layers, it could be that your conditioner could weigh your hair down. Blow-drying your hair upside down can create lift. Bending the hair at the root with a straightening iron also creates lots of lift. If your hair is dry, maybe you should try a hair treatment. I use Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle and it makes my BLEACH DAMAGED hair look soft and shiny and hydrated..
Hope this helps xx

Paul Mitchel skinny serum! Best product ever!!! A full size can be a little pricey, but you can get a small bottle for about 6-8 bucks depending on where you're buying and it lasts a long time! You just need a small dab of it. I put it in my hair after towel drying it after showering. You just evenly distribute it. It makes it easier to manage, lessens the time to dry it, de-tangles, smells nice, adds shine. And then if you still need a boost after it's dry I add a little bit more to the ends. It's my staple, miracle product that I will ALWAYS use.

Norka - all my layers start from my ears downward, but i find when i take weight off the bottom, it ends up big EVERYWHERE. The weight at least takes it down a bit. Also, I do straighten my hair section by section but because I want to hold off on that for a while, I will try blow drying upside down like you suggested :)
Andrea - I will give that a try too, thanks :)

I had a similar issue. What i do to keep my hair manageable is use damage care shampoo/conditioner whenever i use heat. I also use a smoothing milk. (Garnier i think) Lately Ive been using Herbal Essence Tousle Me Softly products. They really enhance my waves and my frizz isnt so bad. I hope that helps.
