i was a bare minerals girl for years and decided i just didn't like it any more so i'm in need of a new foundation.i need a full coverage one because i still have a tendency to break out and have some scars and redness. i went yesterday and bought the Laura mercier liquid foundation. it covers well but i just don't really like it. Ive heard so much about the Revlon color stay i bought a bottle and got the wrong color so I'm switching it back. Ive had a sample of the mac studio fix and really liked it but i hear so much negative I'm kinda afraid to get it. i actually intended to get the MUFE hd but changed my mind cause it just didn't look quite right to me.I am going to switch the revlon out for the right color and try it against some others. some one please help I'm so confused!!!!!

Powder foundation definately isn't strong enough to cover anyone who would like/need heavy coverage. Liquid is definately the best way to go as far as coverage wise. If you have oily skin or sensitive skin be careful-- alot of liquid foundations have a lot of oils which wont do much but make your skin worst if it is like the afore mentioned. I personally have very dry skin, so liquid is a God-sent! Here are a few liquid foundations and my opinions on each product.
MAC Studio Fix: Very heavy coverage. Will cover any and all blemishes, scarring, what ever whatever! However is has a very strong scent, and as I said is very heavy. Without a primer is cakes easily and so I wouldn't recommend using a powder on top to seal the foundation. This one however doesn't necessarily need a sealer. It stays put for the most part!
Revlon Color Stay: In my opinion one of the full coverage foundations out there. It covers absolutely ever flaw on your face and has a very easy application. This one does need a powder ontop to be sealed but other than that phenomenal foundation!
Laura Mercier: Great foundation, I personally think it cost too much for what it's worth.
Makeup Forever HD Foundation: I use this product alot when I'm working on movie sets! As it says, it works wonderful when take pictures, etc! It is a little on the expensive side but is verey much worth the cost!
What you should do!
For scarring I would most definately just get a nice concealer (NARS concealers are Fab!) Apply that whereever you want a little extra coverage and then apply the foundation on top (Makeup Forever HD, or Maybelline Fit Me < for lighter coverage for summer>), dust a little powder on top, some sealing spray, and BOOM! A flawless skin!
I hope that helps!

I like using the Urban Decay Setting Spray, I think it's called 'All-Nighter' or something, check Sephora or the Urban Decay website-- http://www.urbandecay.com/all-nighter-makeup-setting-spray/237,default,pd.html?start=5&cgid=4
Good Luck!

I used the Clinique Acne Foundation for a long time, I think you might like it! It's not full coverage, but I would then buff in some MAC Mineralized SKin Finish Natural on top for the setting and extra coverage. I did find that foundation helped with breakouts cause it has salisylic acid in it. I also have a LOT of scarring now and if you're just looking for a heavy duty foundation, check out Estee Lauders doublewear, it's fantastic, covers everything!

I have a lot of scarring and redness from seb. derm. on my face and found that neutrogena clear skin is great for my combo/sensetive skin and coverage and has actually helped my overall skins apprearance.
