I used to swim competitively for 11 years. The chlorine used to irritate my face and cause dry skin. Use zinc as a barrier on your skin, it helped a lot. Hope this helps!

I used to be at the pool a lot. I swam competitively and also was a swim instructor. I have been wanting to get back into it but surprisingly the thoughts of the damage it did to my hair and skin and all the lovely warts I would get on my feet I have been considering not. There definitely are ways around it.. I think with the knowledge I have now I should be okay... but I spend good money on my hair getting it professionally done. You will most likely find the water may be quite drying to your skin. Using a toner would be imperative to keep the pH balanced.
