If you're on a time limit then makeup should take less than 30 mins. It all depends on what you're being asked to do. An artist that gets paid and there's no time limit for their work shouldn't take less than 30 mins. It's just not right! I've seen a lot of sloppy jobs when some artist take 20 minutes to do makeup. I think a good time is 45 to an hour maybe a little longer if you want everything perfect and not leaving anything out like some people that just slap brushes around peoples face.

It depends. You want to do your best job, but you don't want to take forever. I could spend hours- but all i honestly need is half an hour. And since it's bridal makeup, it's nothing very complicated. I tend to use a lot if soft colors. Most brides i find really like the taupe eyes, bright rosy cheeks, natural lip, and bug lashes kind of look. Obviously nothing thick or anything- it's gotta last a long time, look natural, not be obnoxious... I mean, yeah. It takes me half an hour at best.

An average beauty or natural look should take 30 to 40 minutes max. A more fashion or glamour look should take 45 minutes, an hour tops. It also depends on your products. Like if you use an airbrush rather than conventional makeup it will shorten your time by at least 10 minutes.

It should take around 45 minutes. No more than an hour.

For bridal makeup I typically allow 45 minutes for bride, and 25-30 minutes for bridesmaids

i say it would take about at least only 20 minutes.

It all depends on what type of makeup you are doing, and on who you are working on. Some girls are REALLY picky and feel the need to walk YOU through on how you should be doing their face. Some girls just don't care and let you do your thing. So I'd say anywhere from 30 mins to an hour is reasonable for a well done application.

It all depends hunnie bunny.
My sister likes a natural look, so for her it would take me a good 15 - 20 minutes.
However when I do a dramatic look [example, a fairy aqua kinda look]
It'll take me a good 30 - 45 minutes, depending on how extreme I go.
It's all up to you, boo boo.

it all depends! I have worked on sets where it takes me 15 min, and others where i am in hair and makeup for almost 2 hours. its all about the concept. for avant garde styled work and anything with decals it is a much more tedious process.

i say it depends on what you are doing as well. i've taken a class and my instructor trained us to work within 30-45 min range (closer to 45 with lashes).

when I'm teaching I start my girls out at 1hr to do a full makeover by graduation they have 30minutes to complete the face (which can still be too long depending on the assignment). Runway makeup should take no more than 15 minutes. I usually say if its taking longer that 30 minutes then you're f*cking something up.

I think it depends what you're doing. A very basic and natural "no-makeup" look would take a lot less time than a dramatic night-time or fashion look, for instance. An hour is probably a good average :)

an hour. including consultation time. This is assuming it's nothing crazy or anything.

Whenever I do someone elses makeup and the eye look is rather dramatic it takes me a half hour to forty five minutes.
